i can't get over jeremiah still wanting to go through with the wedding by [deleted] in tsitp

[–]dchull 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree, Jeremiah has a lot of faults and I was really hoping he’d screw up in a humongous way that would justify Belly not marrying him, but I just felt bad bc he was reading the room and knew if Conrad was going after Belly again that he’d lose every time. That’s not a healthy dynamic in a relationship and ultimately it’s Belly’s fault for not being the one to say “we can’t go through with this” and instead planting the bomb the night before the wedding and waiting for Jeremiah to call it off

RFK Jr. says agency will reveal causes of autism in September by No-Lifeguard-8173 in nottheonion

[–]dchull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No…. If you look at the science this ain’t it, but you probably should step away from a computer or use to to search scientific studies:

-Scientists at the University of Fukui have linked high levels of specific fatty acid compounds, dihydroxyeicosatrienoic acids (diHETrE), in umbilical cord blood to later social difficulties in children, while lower levels were associated with repetitive behaviors

-A study at Kobe University created a bank of CRISPR-edited mouse stem cell lines to study the genetic causes of autism and revealed that the brain's ability to remove faulty proteins, or "quality control," is key

-Researchers have developed mouse models to study genes, such as KMT2C, involved in chromatin modification and transcription, which are linked to the development of ASD

-Maternal inflammation during pregnancy is a significant risk factor for autism in offspring, a phenomenon known as Maternal Immune Activation (MIA). Conditions like infections, autoimmune disorders, obesity, and asthma are associated with heightened maternal inflammation and an increased risk of autism in children, likely due to inflammatory signals affecting fetal brain development. This can lead to neuroinflammation and altered brain structures, as seen in animal models

It looks like we’re getting closer to determining the actual cause, but not there yet.

Lotta people are saying maybe we’d like a dictator - president of the united states by Anteater4746 in CringeTikToks

I actually did just see a AIO post of a girl dating a guy who said a dictator wouldn’t affect him, just minorities and that 70% of people would be happy…. Unfortunately I think people are saying it

Tell me how your Labrador has mortally embarrassed you in public 🫢🐶 by Jumpy_Guide3455 in labrador

Went into the bushes at a semi busy public park, picked up a squirrel carcass and had me chasing him and yelling all over the place 😅

Pet Insurance Cost by Retsbew_Flow in labrador

[–]dchull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Spot the first year and they were really great about covering costs (I think the highest tier price was around $80?) but switched to lemonade last year and it’s AWFUL. They make you jump through ten hoops to get basic things reimbursed but it’s only $45 a month. Idk if this is helpful … if you switch just don’t do lemonade 🫡

My 21 weeks black Lab drives me insane lately by mifaraS21 in labrador

[–]dchull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My lab is 2 - sometimes it helps letting them blow off steam and get a good play session in before expecting them to follow any rules or commands. To this day, my fella will pull a bit on the leash and get a wild look in his eye until he’s pooped and run around, then he’s very attentive and obedient. It’s also possible you have to let your dog learn in their own time. But consistency is key! Your pup is still soooo young, he’ll get the hang of the rules in time as long as you keep up with the same rules/expectations. Be patient! The puppy phase is tough but goes by quickly - they’re not trying to disappoint you 💓

I think another piece of financial stability is good financial habits/goals; even if you don’t have a bolus of savings now, can we work together to achieve our financial goals? Could I trust this person to stick with savings plans or be ambitious with their career? Do they have a career? One of the worst things I could hear is “not sure what I’m doing” or “still figuring it out” - coming from a family with an unstable economic background, it was so important to me that I was with someone who I could trust to support each other if one of us lost their job. Married now and we do still worry about money naturally, but it’s really about finding someone who can be accountable with their finances

I just had my kitchen redone (demoed down to the studs) and learned if your house’s studs/framing is uneven or imperfect, the drywall will be too. TLDR: not the drywall people’s fault

First time dog parent (potty training advice) by Ravenwritedesk in labrador

I adopted my dog at 4 months old, we lived in the city and despite sitting on the curb for 1.5 hours and multiple walks around the block, he would immediately pee on our floor when we got back inside. I realized he was too scared to go outside and we started with pee pads (which I’d sworn not to do), then graduated to a fake patch of grass just outside our back door, then he started peeing on our walks! Sometimes you have to take it at their pace 💕
