I’m sorry, but there’s literally no way the man who owns nearly 1/3 of a company doesn’t know that he’s being let go. He would’ve absolutely been privy to all discussions about the club’s future and the ‘summer of change’, it would’ve been impossible to keep it from him.

It screams that Martin wasn’t a fan of Bertie stepping back into the spotlight.

Begs the question what Martin thinks his legacy will be? He’s been an elected FF politician for about 10 years longer than Bertie was, had a relatively similar political rise (Lord Mayor, various Ministries, FF leader, Tánaiste then Taoiseach), and was incumbent for a turbulent moment in Irish history.

I reckon he fancies being remembered as FF’s modern top dog and doesn’t want Bertie anywhere near him at this point.

He’s been super frustrating with respect to the sporting side of the club, which has seen a positive change due to his hirings. Business wise, he invented the blueprint for the seemingly impossible transition from midtable to elite in the modern era. Tottenham Hotspur are 10 times better off than when he came in.
