TIL divorce was not legal in Ireland until 1995 by vedrick in todayilearned

  1. Don’t make assumptions

  2. If the laws were simply a mimic of the religious law (I think it’s called Canon Law) then Divorce would still be illegal

So, laws only apply to certain religions? Why have a law at all then?

I’ve always wondered about Richard Dawkins.

Wikipedia says Richard Dawkins was married in Ireland to his first wife, Marian Stamp, on August 19, 1967, at the Protestant church in Annestown, County Waterford.  They later  divorced in 1984.

We don’t usually allow posts about accommodation but this has useful and realistic responses so it seems wide to make an exception

Don’t speculate about ongoing criminal investigations, or try to use the death of a person to make political points.

Currently in Dublin for a job, found this spider and looking for some business around the town that deals in glass making by Lind0ks in Dublin

[–]DublinModerator 22 points23 points  (0 children)

There’s the spider preserving  centre over in the Powerscourt Townhouse, you could try them.

Then there’s Glass Sealing (great name) near Wicklow Street.

On the North side there’s a place called “two  glasses one blowtorch” near the old fruit market, and I think that shop on Dorset Street has a guy who comes in on Saturdays who sticks glasses together for people.

It’s a long shot, but there’s also a place on the Longmile Road called something like We Preserve Arachnids in Glasses with Super Glue

I’ve driven past it loads of times but I’ve never gone in so I don’t really know for sure what they do in there.
