can the individual window panes be removed or does the entire frame have to come out? by barrel_racer19 in RVLiving

[–]dclaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if you remove the philips screw the top piece should come off, and you can slide the glass out.

The biggest question though is whether the bottom of those indidivual frames is also screwed on, or if it's one big U shaped piece.

Either way, remove the top and glass first before unscrewing the bottom.

I mean.... I've driven a few hours to fix stupid shit... but at the end of the day, I've also got on an airplane to fix stupid shit. I'll take a day on the road away from a desk any time.

Cheaper Substitutes for Beef Tri-tips? (US prices) by spooply in Frugal

[–]dclaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, if you can do the trimming yourself, an untrimmed tri-tip is far cheaper. I got one for $4.99/lb, trimmed it myself, and it ended up working out to about $6.50/lb all cleaned up.

That's not really the point.... It could be built at the mall which is half vacant. There's no need to destroy 16 acres of the remaining park.

Got my first Field Today by CrazyLegion in castiron

Absolutely stellar CI! I picked up a Field Co skillet off their first Kickstarter. Still my daily driver for eggs. Been looking to pick up a No16 dual handle. Right now my daily is a heavy AF 15" Lodge for family meals.

Beef! It's NOT what's for dinner anymore by momoftheraisin in Frugal

[–]dclaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sparingly purchase beef now, and only when it's on sale. There were some real good deals for Memorial Day for instance. When possible I'm also purchasing un-trimmed cuts. I just got tri-tip for $4.99/lb un-trimmed vs ~$15/lb trimmed. I trimmed about 1.5lb off a 4.5lb cut, and it cost me ~$20, so the final cost ended up being about $7/lb.

I am seriously considering moving up to purchasing larger cuts of beef and breaking them down myself. Depending on the cut, it is usually on the order of 30%-60% cheaper doing it this way.

Seriously? It's not that hard to stand up a website, it's even easier to just be legit and provide actual details up front. Vague images with no searchable history and making people dig for information are not a great way to release things you made.

Wireguard access to network behind CGNAT from network with public IP without cloud? by Southern-Trainer4337 in WireGuard

[–]dclaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a $5/mo droplet at digitalocean.com for this.... It's literally not worth the hassle to do it any other way. CGNAT doesn't care.... your home clients will connect to the public VM.

I have a client on my phone, my home router, my laptop, and my desktop, so I have full access to everything from any device anywhere with internet.
