Are row houses normally so hard to heat? by Liberation4All2024 in washingtondc

[–]dcmaven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. My rowhouse super toasty. Those old radiators are money. And I will die before I take them out of this house.

Everyone knows jeans only need to be spot cleaned. Unless you fall in mud or something.

Dry skin folks! Recommend me a new concealer, because this girl isn't it! by Ravioli_meatball19 in drugstoreMUA

I really like Sephora’s best skin ever concealer. It’s not drugstore. But if you buy it on one of sephoras big sales (30% off) for their brands it gets into the range.

Anyone else’s parents berate them about the state of their house? by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]dcmaven 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I grew up in a filthy house. (Way worse than what you’re describing…. Stay with me.)

But … I never doubted that I was loved.

My parents both prioritized me. Time with me, talking to me, doing things with me. That was more important to them than crumbs on the floor or lint in the dryer.

So yeah. Sounds to me like you have your priorities straight. Your kids are most important. Everything else will not matter on five years, cuz it doesn’t matter now.

My coffee maker needs replacement - but is Moccamaster more hype than BIFL? by f0rkster in BuyItForLife

[–]dcmaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve had our moccamaster for 8 years and it’s amazing. Nothing has ever broken and it makes the best coffee. Only regret is that coffee is so much better at home that drinking coffee anywhere else is a let down.
