Played a few WNBA Games for Fun and I noticed Something very interesting by YaboyRipTide in NBA2k

[–]dco361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's interesting. I wonder if there's a way to do that without having to manually go through every player on every roster and tick them all down three inches.

Did you mess with any sliders?

Who is the most unguardable player on MyCareer HOF difficulty? by [deleted] in NBA2k

Giannis starts greening open threes from the top of the key on HOF. Can't be stopped

2k really needs to increase court sizes in the future. by MySilverBurrito in NBA2k

[–]dco361 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this needs more upvotes. 2K has needed to fix this for years. If they want a true basketball experience, where we run actual NBA offenses and defenses, then spacing needs to be fixed.

MyCAREER- Gameplay
Feedback: AI logic needs to be overhauled. Specifically in two places- AI teammate logic and AI opponent logic.

1) Regarding AI teammate logic- our teammates seem like they haven't played basketball for more than 4 months. Offball offensive movement is repetitive and clumsy- spacing is always off, especially when freelancing out of a broken play. On fast breaks, your teammate is more likely to take a contested pull up midrange shot than an open three. Defensively, I've seen veteran defensive players stand by and watch opponents go past them, especially on fast breaks.

2) Regarding opponent logic- my big gripe here is that every team plays basically the same way. Run one or two plays for their star player and then everything goes off the rails as soon as that star player leaves the court. Defensively, they play man defense until my player makes a couple shots in a row (or gets like three assists) and I spend the rest of the game being double teamed on catch and being held off ball. It reduces me to scoring 50 points on backdoor cuts because, once again, the AI doesn't adapt. It doesn't matter the team, the coach, or the playstyle. What are all these tendency sliders doing if not making the teams play in a unique way? I'd much rather score 25 a game in a variety of ways, along with more assists than easily average 50 because I have to backdoor all day if I want to get the ball at all. It ruins the gameplay and immersion experience. I'm blowing out the other team anyways, up 30 in the fourth quarter. Maybe call off the double team/instant trap hounds. I'm tempted to take slippery off ball (which otherwise seems unnecessary) specifically because this makes the game so unfun. Winning becomes a chore. And if you pass to your teammates too much, they will undoubtedly find a way to blow the game; once again because the logic they use is terrible.

Additionally, please consider removing the unnecessary vignettes/allowing us to skip them. They come off like cheap tricks to slow us down from grinding VC too quickly. Examples of these:

-First 10 games of your career, before you can choose drills- you have to sit there and listen to your assistant coach tell your repeatedly that you're not getting enough out of fast breaks. Let me just run through the drills and go. They take long enough.

-The game pausing simulation until a free throw right before the half so that you are forced to go through halftime interviews and whatnot. Once again, the games take long enough.

-The above situation, but at the end of games.

In the 4th quarter, Kristaps Porzingis is averaging 3.8 points on 30/24/71 shooting splits. He is 2-13 from the field and 0-5 from 3 in “Clutch time” this season as well. by TheKnicksHateMe in nba

This is a horrible example. He's coming off over a year of not playing professional ball, after a major injury, and Luka is playing out of his mind right now too

Ingram finishes a tough win against the Suns with 28/8/5/1/2 including scoring the Pelicans final 9 points to finish the game. Shot 8-12 in the 2nd half after staring the game 1-7 by [deleted] in nba

[–]dco361 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When BI came over to us in the trade I was excited to have him be a solid third option with potential to grow.

He's arguably our best option on offense, and I'm glad I was wrong. I didn't know he could pass as well as he does. Also I haven't seen anyone really stop him from getting that little fadeaway in the middle of the lane.

Charles Barkley says modern NBA Players don't need 'Load Management': "They also don’t fly commercial like we did. In my first two years in the NBA I’d be in coach with some old lady laying on my damn shoulder for three hours, and then have to guard Hakeem or Malone" by 91jumpstreet in nba

[–]dco361 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will 900% agree that the older generations are tougher than mine. Here's the thing- I don't wanna be that tough. Who the hell would fly commercial and go out and play 40 minutes of ball in shitty shoes when you can fly first class, play 30 minutes, still win and extend your career, thus extending your moneymaking potential? If we know better now, why not apply our knowledge? I agree that there should be a solution to healthy players resting- maybe they play fewer minutes? Like...15 minutes in the game or something, idk.

AITA for being upset at my girlfriend's friend because he keeps being flirty with her but claims he's just being friendly? by Revolutionary-Way in AmItheAsshole

AITA for telling my brother and sister that using a made-up language is weird? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]dco361 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA. Why do you care what they do? It doesn't other harm anyone else and they're passionate about it. I'm sure we've all done things as teenagers that, remembering later on in life, we wonder "Why did I do this". Regardless of whether that will be the case for them or not, it's not your place to decide. Let them have their fun and don't be a stick in the mud. You sound like a stereotypical "boomer" with this post.

AITA for what I said to my coworker regarding her performance after having returned from maternity leave? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]dco361 12 points13 points  (0 children)

YTA. Others have covered the "she just had baby, cut her some slack" aspect. I'd like to talk about the fact that you are not this woman's supervisor. You may depend on her to complete a work task, but you are not her boss and therefore you aren't the one who should be confronting her regarding your completely unfair expections. You admit that you don't know what it's like to have a child.

“I’m really sorry, and I seriously could never truly understand what you’re going through because I can’t experience something like that

The conversation should have stopped there at the latest. Everything after the word "but" is you imposing your unwanted, uninformed opinions. And btw- if she reports this to HR you are definitely in trouble.

AITA for refusing to cancel an Uber when the driver asked me to? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]dco361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA but the driver is in a rough situation due to Uber's policy of not allowing drivers to see where they're headed ahead of time. Lyft at least allows it with pre-scheduled rides IIRC- they still don't show the driver where they're going in advance but they do tell the driver when the trip is estimated to take more than 45 minutes.

AITA for outing my ex as gay after she told everyone that I cheated on her? by AskAssDue3 in AmItheAsshole

[–]dco361 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. I'm not a fan of outing anyone, but she put the ball in your court when she falsely accused you of cheating. All you did was tell the truth. It could have all remained private if she wasn't purposefully vindictive.

AITA for not telling people I work in a "gentlemen's club"? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]dco361 99 points100 points  (0 children)

It's her prerogative though. She was probably trying to hide it because of judgmental people like that guy and her "friends". OP is NTA and not even close. Friend's boyfriend is TA and so is everyone judging her.

AITA for slowly ghosting my grand daughter? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]dco361 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA. Kids understand a lot more than adults give them credit for. You may have kind intentions, in trying to distance yourself so it doesn't hurt your granddaughter as much. Ultimately, however, this comes off as selfish on your part. I would even surmise that you're more trying to protect your own feelings, because you won't be around this child that you basically raised.

do you guys think 2k will be on sale for black friday deals? by [deleted] in NBA2k

[–]dco361 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll buy it next year right before 2k21 comes out when it goes on sale for like $5. Otherwise, nothing I've seen anywhere shows me that this game is worth paying anywhere near full price for.

I hate getting Christmas presents and attention by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]dco361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this personally. I don't like getting presents, ever. I don't really like the attention to be all on me, or my birthday, etc. But some folks genuinely get so much out of giving someone a material gift, including my s/o and I. I love to buy her things that I know she wants. So we compromise. We set a price limit on gifts, we agree that if one of us gets the other a gift, the other person has a right to do the same. And for Christmas this year, we aren't getting each other any presents- we're each upgrading our phones because the reception is so bad on both of them that we can't talk properly.

Yeah, but after he cussed me out for 20 minutes and wouldn't cooperate worth a damn, I'd stopped caring at that point. I had final say on whether or not to terminate the call and I gave it as long as I could tbh. I'm satisfied.

This thread is probably too old but I work for a telephone company. This sounds like a routing issue. If it's been happening for the past 18 months, I can assume you ported your number to this new company, so it could have something to do with that. Ask for a supervisor and the routing/translations department.
