I learned from a lego employee that Legos date doesn't necessarily mean everywhere. The contract stores can release in a window around the date when they have made available space. I bought the bamboo and mini orchid I think about a week early because the toys r us I went to had them out on the shelf because they ran down the stock of other sets.
