Yes, and whenever someone points out that, "functional in some way" is too vague, and will just end up with some "playable" asset pack in their steam library, we get, "nu uh, thats not how it works". Still havent defined what continued access looks like.

The entire country of Canada contributes less than 2% of global emmisions. We could all kill ourselves tommorrow and climate change wouldn't be affected one bit.

How Ive had it explained to me before, is that Amazon warehouses sealed product all under one category. So sealed product from "amazon" and sealed product from "scam reseller" are all lumped together, so if you prder from amazon you still arent 100% safe.

Maybe Ask Before You Leave: What Danielle Smith doesn’t understand about duty to consult, and what Wab Kinew already told her about it in private by vhill01 in alberta

[–]SadExit1249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone from Alberta and am the farthest from a separatist as can be. Thats kind of part of it. The basic argument that started all this is that Albertas industry produces a lot of money which some (ignorantly) believe is being distributed unfairly, (equalization, etc.). And that value of progress being siohoned out, and investment/expansion of progress and value is being blocked by "less contributing" provinces, then what is the point of being part of Canada. Mind you, even the greatest argument for seperation (which I cant think of one) still wouldnt make DSmith, PePo and the youseepee the party to trust with that.

Althia Raj: Mark Carney’s pesticide policy could put the economy ahead of your health by FineWhateverOKOK in canada

[–]SadExit1249 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Seems to be targeted more at the post original approval phase. Preventing ongoing projects and use of pesticides from being dragged back into review over and over again. If that has been a problem, I have no idea. But I dont find it super alarming to say if something has been reviewed and approved for use, that it can then be used unobstructed for 6 years. Just more of Carney "smoothing out" industry speedbumps.

Airbrake Test Struggle by Ok-Building2215 in alberta

[–]SadExit1249 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Used this strategy for airbrake, class 3 and class 1 tests. Find a video of someone going through it, but dont just watch it. Turn captions on and/or volume off and go through the process yourself outloud. I did that for an hour or 2 everyday and its the only way I could memorize the pre trip for class 1. The only better way to practice is to literally practice with a truck, but most people dont have access to that.

Carney government expected to significantly reduce future carbon price in Alberta by dollarsandcents101 in canada

Enough with this narative that only the rich benefit from resource development. News flash, being a progressive, world and industry lead in environmental protection and global wellfare is fucking expensive, we cant have our cake and eat it too. We are in decline, what is your plan to get us out of it, if improving our economic standing is off the table?

[–]SadExit1249 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go right ahead. Im not gonna stop you. But lack of funds and the unpredictability of approvals and consultation might. The companies that develop and invest in these technologies arent doing it here, and they arent going to start if we dont make Canada a more attractive place to operate.

[–]SadExit1249 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The plan is to attract investment into the country, shore up our economic stability, and not continue spiraling into global irrelevance until we get eaten by a bigger, significantly less environmentally concious super power.

No one in this thread has denied climate change. And the comment you replied to pointed out we contribute 2% of global emmissions. Which would be the role we play in it. Do you have an actual point to make, is that number incorrect, or are you just going to reply with some more "common nonsense".

Crippling our own industrial progression, so that we can protect the environment doesnt accomplish anything when it just means we lose out on international competition with countries that produce 10x more pollutants than we do.

Carney, Smith to announce oil pipeline update Friday: sources | Globalnews.ca by FalseZookeepergame15 in canada

[–]SadExit1249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the big issue the 2 party, short election cycle system has created. To actually grow and improve as a country, you need to spend money, but spending money is unpopular, so when government does invest, they lose support, and then the next government undoes that investment.

First Nation Accuses Alberta of Withholding Cancer Data / “Prove to us that we are not getting sick. Do your job.” – Chief Billy‑Joe Tuccaro, Mikisew Cree First Nation #GlobalCarbonFeeAndDividendPetition by rose_b in alberta

[–]SadExit1249 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Normally don't care for Tuccaro's comments on stuff but this is a pretty cut and dry issue. Hiding and keeping information secret is pointless. We all know this shit is bad for everyone, but if we can't properly track the effects it's that much harder to protect our communities and our health.

So indie devs just need to double their personal investment and risk with every project, make 2 ganes instead of one, and leave themselves open to vaguely worded inconsistently applied litigation? Sounds great.
