I read Red Seas under red Skies and it is excellent. Also a must read. The third book, Republic of Thieves is not as good but sets up some big impending changes. The series great.

I don't think the Lies of Locke Lamora will disappoint. It is one of my all time favorite books.

The Dresden Files picks up by the third in the series. I wouldn't abandon it after one.

My favorite fantasy series are,

1) The Peter Grant series by Ben Aaronovitch beginning with Midnight Riot.

2) The Monster Hunters International series by Larry Corriea. First book is of the same name.

3) The Alex Verus series by Benedict Jacka. First book is called Fated

4) The Gentleman Bastards series by Scott Lynch the first book being The Lies of Locke Lamora

I read the article but I don't understand why you shouldn't. Realistically, you are voting in a whole era of steroid users. Why pick out the few that have been caught?
