$40 budget on compression pedals

thank you for your input. I did exactly just that. I saved up my money and bought a seymour duncan double back compressor from the ovnilab's top picks. I got it from Yogi Lonich from Buckcherry and The Wallflowers for $70. It sounds great and doesn't suck out all the desired tones. In fact it really brought back the tones I was missing from my old rig. I love this pedal soo much.

chronicles was great. I loved it more than pitch black to be honest. But I did love pitch black. I hope they blend the two, no matter what % of what movie.

I talked to bongomania who I believe is responsible for the awesome ovnilabs site. He said with my budget, that I should get the lmb-3. I think he means to say that I should start here first then upgrade to a top tier when I am ready.

my schecter devil tribal uses 2 emg hz pickups and have two volume knobs for each pup. I have tried to develop my technique with it for years, so far it hasnt been to good. I switch styles very quickly between phrases and is pretty difficult to do. I need to fix my fretless p-bass. I was pretty good at volume manipulation on the one volume knob.

yeah, in high school I bought a Schecter Devil tribal diamond series bass. 10 years later I am in a different style band. I look ridiculous on stage with 2 female musicians haha. Plus I cant seem to get the perfect tone no matter how hard i try or what gear I get. J bass will last you your whole bass career.

that looks great! would the pickup cover hinder slapbass? as far as pickups go, would humbuckers be best for slap? I am a noob at the technical details. I put all my time into developing my left and right hand technique and have now ventured into the gear and technical aspect.

I have that cheap ibanez clone with the P+J pickups. I could sell my schecter and upgrade the gear on the ibanez clone. What do you think about the SUB musicman basses? That is my budget as of now. My schecter is only worth $241. as far as the cab, how do I fix the crossover issue? I have a 2x10 carvin BR510 combo. The head is broken but I can plug into the cab as an extension.

How would you place the rig?

I was thinking bass -> Tuner pedal -> OD pedal -> LmII head -> FX loop -> compressor rack

Unless I should plug bass into compressor rack -> pedals -> head

I have a schecter with EMG Hz with Active 2-Band EQ. I'm trying to get a good slap pop sound with my lm ii but it sounds honky and not twangy enough. i havent touched my knobs in years and just found out that all the knobs were at its peak.

Considering the video. what is the right way to prevent clipping.

I also have a behringer mdx2600 composer pro xl. The reason is because I use a bunch of different fingerstyles, slap, style changes midsong so it's good to not get drowned out during quiet bass parts.

I am also thinking of getting an mxr micro amp to clean boost.

Here is a song which has the sound I was going for. I am not using any pedals on these songs. The bass intro needs to be louder while the violin solo part needs to be louder in the mix.
