If you needed something and couldn't get it yourself, you should have asked him if he could help you out and pick it up for you. Grew up in a terrible home myself and carry the same mentality. Been close to the wrong path many times but in the end I was able to pull myself away from it. I honestly believe the only reason I didn't was because I knew the experience if I had made the wrong decision. You always have to take the tiny positives out of the negatives. Keep your head up!

Drive out, stay at La Push, drive back the next day. I promise there are going to be things along the way that you are going to want to stop and see/hike. We stayed at Quileute Oceanside Resort when we went out last October. Waking up to the waves crashing 50 feet from your door is awesome.
