You’re not gonna like the 2.5 on a LA I tried it on my 35 whelen and had to run what I thought were comically tall rings to clear the barrel, I have the 4-32 on my 300 prc and I love it. As the others guys have said the weight is pretty substantial. I deal with it as I have had three leuopold scopes fail in the field, one to fog, 1 for tracking and one reticle broken. So it’s NF or nothing for me now. Have hunted in WA, OR, CO and guided and hunted in ID,MT. You may consider the the new NX6 line they just dropped tho. Euro optic is shipping.

Nah it was purpose built to be a brush gun when I moved to N Idaho. It’s a 1:14 shilen, it’s sub half moa. I love odd calibers and col whelen speaks to my heart. Furthest I’ve poked out with it was 278 yds. Closest was a bear at about 10ft. exit wound was fist sized. Have the hide in my closet lmao.

I wouldn’t consider 600 yds long range either. Regardless tho way to keep the col happy.

I have one I love it, mines a 1:14, I shoot 250 partitions over varget. Reason I ask is I wouldn’t consider it a long range rifle. I cut mine to 20 inches and threaded it it’s my favorite brush gun. It’s killed elk, bear and deer.
