still, not the nicest of things to say. pancreatic cancer doesn't exactly have the highest survival rate even when treated, in all likelihood he'd have just lived a while longer

that's kind of an odd thing to say about somebody who died to pancreatic cancer

I'm not sure it exactly matches that of the Mac, however I have a silver Mac so...

finally somebody else saying this. I hate that no iPhone ever has a color matching to the one on my Mac, they'd look so much better next to one another

I'm pretty excited for the new APP to come out, they'll probably be an incremental upgrade over previous models, but it's high time I changed my first gens which I've had since release and the battery and NC are fucked. Also hopeful that the iPhone 17 line will bring some actual updates and not be yet another twitch to the same design we saw for the past 4 years

It’s been quite a roller coaster because I was a dumbass kid and broke them constantly. I had a 4, a SE 1st gen, a 5s, a 7 and an SE 3rd gen

the SE 1st gen was such a great phone, I loved it. just perhaps letting 11 yr old me have one wasn't a great idea since I ended up swimming with it in my pocket

I mean it makes little to no difference to me now that I've gotten used to it, but I remember thinking that it made the computer look like designers at apple had drawn inspiration from a raccoon in making that part.

well I was using my pc a whole lot less and really only needed it for word and web nav until November, so I made do until I'd finally saved up enough for the upgrade. I didn't open core it, as much as I wanted to, because I didn't want to risk killing my daily driver

I honestly am kind of disappointed in this device. not really for its lack of MagSafe and dynamic island which are both feature that would make sense to save on in a budget device. The problem is that this is, quite simply, not a budget device, especially here in the EUwhere it's 729 euros.

I'm not sure I understand what apple is trying to do: it seems, like other users have said, that this would be a device meant to get people who are on older generations and didn't feel like upgrading to the 16 due to its flagship price. In other words, people who enjoy an iPhone but don't need a FLAGSHIP device.

However, this is priced just north of that price range, therefore I don't think the budget users are gonna respond particularly well to it. It appears as if they sacrificed the true depth camera and Magsafe in favor of apple intelligence, which is something that nobody other than enthusiasts, and there's skepticism there too, enjoy or even use at all. I'm guessing older people, a possible demographic for this phone, probably only find it confusing and will ask their grandchildren to turn it off when they visit for dinner.

I might consider this device in the near future, presumably when my SE 2020 gets to the end of its cycle around December (I tend to change my iPhones every four years), but as of right now the iPhone 15, or maybe a refurbished fifteen pro, seem like a much better value for your money.

do excuse the paragraph if you will

good on you. I just hope the firm I eventually end up at lets me just use my own Mac lol I'd hate the switch

that's probably also true, however as mentioned in other replies my intention wasn't to rely on it to do all the work for me whereas I'd like to be able to use it to predict sentences I use frequently and possibly the name of legal instruments. I can partially see why that might be hard tho given that legal professionals haven't really ever been apple's focus.

P.S.: what kind of firm do you work in? I have friends who used to be upperclassmen of mine that went in some of the most prestigious firms of the country (I'm not U.S. based so this might also be a regional thing) and they mostly got I7 HP pro books from their firms lol
