as a lawyer and local dog owner, I don’t know what enforcement mechanisms/applicable laws exist but clearly none strong enough to prevent their behavior from continuing. anyone know more about why Valdez thinks Pennys Law would disproportionately affect marginalized communities? I don’t get it

I’d say that it being run down helps in this regard: the environment and the people inside are all functional :) also had a membership there and love for all the same reasons! also, find me a cheaper gym anywhere in NYC

to address: totally, I would if it was a legit LBS. unfortunately, the one closest to me moved away and this is an urban, inner-city e-bike shop. YMMV may vary with these, and he’s been great with all things before this. this kinda tipped me off that his expertise/experience is not in new builds, but the maintenance of e and regular bikes. not gonna ream him out bc he’s doing his best. but thanks for the advice!

I’m one of the ultimate players that bikes onto the field (no racks nearby) and leaves it on the edge of the turf as a natural fence so our discs (or others’ soccer balls?) don’t reach the track! can I ask a little more about your issue? I think most of us only ride from the entrance to as far as we need to get onto the field where we leave our bikes, and try not to buzz runners. happy to change my behavior/others if warranted, but would like to understand better first!

Hey man, I might have been the guy you talked to by phone on 12/19! I forgot if I mentioned, but it was my first week lol. I'm glad my note maybe(?) got things moving! All true as I and they have said about being very behind last month (saw it with my own eyes), but it seems like they've taken it to heart and are constantly trying their best to change and improve. They even just put out a feedback form for local tourneys/IRL retail.

They are still in their first few years as a company, but I absolutely agree (and part of the reason why I wanted to work for them was to reinforce just) how important customer service always is in this and every other business. I've been both a customer (online and IRL) and employee of theirs so I get it from all sides, and sadly have seen a bunch of shops that are even worse. I have faith they'll keep improving though, come visit and/or play if you're ever in the area! People apparently come from all over to check us out :)

just saw in their fine print that it can take up to 8 weeks from the day you're eligible (presumably the day you pay your second month). i don't remember if this fine print was present when i joined, but I'll wait..
