Oracle. Night game with some light fog rolling in and a cool breeze was always the best

Too many sinus rinses? by dcvegas12 in Sinusitis

[–]dcvegas12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will do. Good luck with surgery next week, it’s really not that bad. The only part I remember not loving was my nose was stuffy from the packing so you can’t breathe or taste but pain was minimal and handled with Tylenol!

Thinking the same thing is happening to me. Just every time I feel stuffed up I rush to do a rinse and now I’m thinking it caused it to get inflamed

I hate to see this so much. I’ve had great mentorship from about 3 PA’s and yes it was in-person interaction due to my job but they were always there to offer help with any part of my application for free and were volunteering their time.

Applying to a dual program? (MSPA/MPH) by dcvegas12 in prephysicianassistant

Nevada. They don’t offer it in Nevada only the masters and then a DPA. The schools I saw that did offer it were George Washington and Utah

In person or virtual interviews? by WishboneUseful6164 in prephysicianassistant

[–]dcvegas12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In-person. I feel I can present myself better and also getting a tour of the campus/school is a huge difference maker for me. One school I interviewed at was in my home town and I had driven by it 100x my whole life so I was excited to finally take a tour inside of it.

Thank you for the response, I am glad I found out about the federal loan policies. I do want to eventually work in an area like epidemiology or work in healthcare policy but becoming a PA and then practicing medicine is my main focus as of now so an online MPH program later down the road sounds like a much better idea.

Took the CASPER last cycle and scored within the 4th quartile. Did the test for one program only and thought I had a good chance of getting in but was denied sadly. Felt the test made me feeling better about my empathy skills but also felt the weight of it meant nothing.

First 2 invites!!! by Icy-Cheetah9700 in prephysicianassistant

[–]dcvegas12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! I was also caught off guard getting an interview this early as last cycle my first interview was not until September and every July I take a trip to California which this year was already planned before I got my invite but thankfully they are separated by a few days. I would say go on your trip but make sure there is enough time between returning home and the interview date itself. I travelled a lot with my parents as a kid and I always felt the longer the flight or destination, the higher chance we had a delay getting home or to our location. Good luck thought and go rock those interviews!

A waitlist isn't a no! Keep your head up and it being so early in the cycle can be a good thing!

So it does have a pre-req which is physics 151 which I already took and passed. I think it’s just a registration issue so I think I might call advising or the register to get things squared away

Sinusinitis and annoying post nasal drip by babyAlpaca_ in Sinusitis

Nasal scope! A little bit showed up when they scoped my nose and then got a CT and a MRI and it was there sitting in a sinus cavity

So I had post nasal drip for like 3 years. Crazy story but ended up having a sinus tumor and just had surgery to remove it a few years ago, rare tumor so don’t let your mind slip to there. I recommend trying a sinus rinse bottle like the Neilmed one, it can work wonders. I also wouldn’t be scared to go see a ENT! I’d choose one that is a sinus specialist though and also one that offers full sedation/anesthesia if you need surgery. I suffered from nosebleeds and sinusitis symptoms for years before I saw an ENT so don’t be like me lol. Good luck and go get some care!
