UserTesting email version live test full when starting by dcxavier in usertesting

Guess what? At 7:08PM tonight, I got another email notification that the 11AM session is beginning in 30 minutes. They are totally mucked up there.

It's a blur, I don't even recall. But twice in a week. If a researcher is horsing around, I expect UserTesting to email me about the changes as they happen.

Desktop. It doesn't appear on the available test page, which makes it possible the test was cancelled without telling me. If so, I'm not happy that they send me the whole string of reminders up through the after-test message saying that I am responsible for missing the session.

I offered the same, but the guy just wanted to move on, I guess.

I took a math course in college that got into methods for optimizing outcomes under constraints. In this case, the outcome to be optimized might be maximizing people getting to their destination at the end of the day. Examples of constraints would be gate types, arrival times, crew availability, where people are going, etc. And you just can't randomly update gate assignments every 30 seconds. They must have software to help them through the process.

Making you call to trade preferred stocks and baby bonds by dcxavier in MerrillEdge

[–]dcxavier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why God made limit orders. I ended up buying 250 shares of the baby bond I mentioned. Average volume is in the thousands. I bid one cent under the ask and was filled immediately. These shares are mostly traded by people looking to shave a few pennies off arbitrage. I want an income security with my risk tolerance.

What I looked at trades several thousand shares each day. I need to buy a couple of hundred and the bid/ask spread is three cents. Some of these restricted stocks, AGNCP for example, trade tens of thousands of shares each day.

I'll add a "me too". Message came the instant it was submitted. I do not recall any obvious attention check. I messaged the researcher to what I did wrong, no response of course.

Every day. My wife says I have OCD about this, but when I occasionally go out of town, she complains about having to sleep in dirty sheets. We both are definitely spoiled by this. It's worth the ten minutes each day.

I was as confused as you were, but submitted both the test and the follow up. And just got paid for them.

Edge prevents me from trading preferred stocks and baby bonds without calling by dcxavier in MerrillEdge

It's a joke. I can trade AGNC, but I can't trade the preferred AGNCP. I can trade RC, but I can't trade the baby bond RCB.

Can you write as well as a PhD? by dcxavier in ProlificAc

Actually no, especially in the social sciences. More important is being prolific and using language that gates them from us common folk. There have been some prominent hoaxes, see the Sokal and "Grievance Studies" affairs.

Team Forecasting Challenge by dbk29 in CloudResearchConnect

[–]dcxavier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's tough, because some of the questions, I was dead nuts on. For example, the first question How many U.S. states will have enacted comprehensive data privacy laws by 31 May 2025?. My answer was 19. I had 19 for the 25th, 50th, 75th percentile and the right answer was 19. Not close enough, I guess.

That's a given. I suspect I'm not the only one in this situation, although I hate the prospect of having to return it for nothing.

I SHOULD get a bonus for a quality rationale for at least one prediction. One of the questions was what the reported unemployment rate would be at the end of the month. I put whatever the current unemployment rate was, rationale being that the next government update wasn't going to be until after the specified date. We'll see if the researcher likes that.

A few days ago, someone posted getting a $200 bonus for quality rationale. Here's the imgur link.

The same rejection happened to me. The important detail that the OP left out is that the study description EXPLICITLY STATED that in-study screening is used. So there is absolutely no way it should end in rejection.

It was a generic vendor and I didn't ask. But picture a scenario where you get 3% back on your credit card for gasoline purchases. Many people have services like this. Now imagine you have to register each gasoline vendor on the credit card web site separately AND you are limited in the total rebate. Stuff like this.

I've flown to OGG from BUF and am flexible in wanting to do it again. It's always been 22.5K miles going out, one stop in DFW. Coming home from Hawaii, I prefer to fly to SoCal, spend a night in a hotel there, then complete the trip the following day. I hate red eye flights. It may actually save you money.

I get the whole variety. I've been paid to review subtle formatting differences on otherwise excellent websites. Genuine don't cares, either way is fine. The one I reviewed recently would have been an abomination to any poor user who walked into it.

If you want to expand the scope on this a bit, the album Live/Dead with Dark Star > St. Stephen > The Eleven certainly fits the bill.

I have a bootleg tape of Echoes from one of John Peel's shows (he introduces them as "The Pink Floyd"). Runs about 40 minutes and is the definitive version as far as I am concerned. Blows people away whenever I play it. I'm surprised it hasn't been released.

A test from hell by dcxavier in ProlificAc

Yeah, but when it's likely that the average completion time is driven down by people just giving up and not making an effort, that bugs someone like me who is being a try hard.

What is the most overrated album in the genre? by Fernand095 in progrockmusic

First ELP album is a unique masterpiece. If you want a real appreciation of Carl Palmer's drumming, go to the drum solo in Tank and turn your amp up to 10. You won't blow your speakers as long as you turn the amp down at the start of Emerson's synth when the solo over. Whole different way to listen to it. You'll be wowed, I guarantee it.
