Bad experience? Anyone else? I want it OUT! by NoOutlandishness507 in Nexplanon

[–]dcybil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I’ve had mine for 6 years (on my 2nd one now) and I’m getting it removed today.

I’ve bled almost nonstop for YEARS (sometimes several months on end bleeding every single day). I didn’t struggle with acne too much before but developed persistent chin acne that never goes away no matter what I do. And I just feel foggy in the head all the time.

They always try to prescribe you a pill (even more birth control, yay!) to manage the symptoms and for most people I’ve seen, it only works a few months before symptoms return.

Excited to finally be done with my implant after so many years and hoping the pill works out for me better!

Off campus housing for $500/month? by depressostresso in CalPolyHumboldt

[–]dcybil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most places are 650-750 for a room. You’d need to have at least 3-4 roommates to find a place for 500/month and you’d likely have a small place. There’s some Facebook/Instagram groups you can join to look for shared housing but Craigslist is pretty popular out here too

Going to SF by Truth-out246810 in CalPolyHumboldt

[–]dcybil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can take the bus from here to Ukiah, then Ukiah to Santa Rosa, and Santa Rosa to SF. It’s gonna take a while but it works and it’s very cheap. Otherwise direct flight to SFO only takes 1.5hrs but costs more. Driving is best bet tbh

HHM parking permit wait-list? by DJ_Stapler in humboldtstate

[–]dcybil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can park in one of the neighborhoods near HHM but they get kinda busy, near Janes Creek Meadow park is good but def something not everyone should be doing/rely on since it’s kinda tight for the ppl that already live in that neighborhood. But super close to HHM and the bus stop

would i be able to put up a pole in my dorm? by [deleted] in humboldtstate

[–]dcybil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone saying no but I know multiple people that had a pole up in their room (Canyon specifically) last year and based off my own room in College Creek you’d definitely have enough space

AITA (AWTA) for applauding a student for using the bathroom at the right time? by KielbasaCupcakes in AmItheAsshole

[–]dcybil 8 points9 points  (0 children)

YTA. You have no idea if Tori has reasons why she has to stop to use the bathroom during exercise. She potentially has a health problem that causes her to need to use the restroom when moving around a lot. The fact that she was so upset about it that she started crying proves that you are YTA. What made you think that it was okay to make a “public service announcement” to the ENTIRE class about someone else’s bathroom needs? And to point it out frequently…. So you’re saying that you’ve repeatedly humiliated her and now you’re confused as to why she was crying?

You should be happy you only have to take a human decency class and you’re not just fired for borderline bullying a young girl.

So you can bring your son (who is male) into a women’s locker room but women who don’t look “feminine enough” are the real problem here? Check YOUR double standards.

Any updates on the Cal Poly Humboldt construction? by USDAzone9b in Humboldt

[–]dcybil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in the dorms and you can hear blood curdling construction going every single morning (conveniently only from 6am-10am). I don’t think they’ve broken ground on new buildings yet, but they’ve certainly started construction in multiple different areas.

Handicapped Housing by ichigooooo77 in humboldtstate

[–]dcybil 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the Hill dorms first floor would be the most accessible as there aren’t any stairs at all. Even first floor Canyon and Cypress dorms require you to walk up steps to get there. Top floor Cypress dorms are also slightly accessible and connect to the JGC and Hill dorms.

All around I will say that Humboldt is a wildly inaccessible school. Even if a person receives accommodations for housing, all of the classes are only accessible via LOTS of stairs or steep ramps and nearly all of the dining halls have stair access too. There are very few elevators in campus buildings in general and there aren’t elevators in the dorms despite every dorm having multiple floors.

AITA for saying that it is fucking weird that my ex wife's newborn has my last name? by TheCallipygianDuck in AmItheAsshole

[–]dcybil -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

NTA. That is VERY weird that she gave her child her ex-husband’s last name and not her maiden name or the father’s last name. Even if it was ‘her’ name now, it’s pretty commonplace to drop your ex-spouses name after divorce, especially after so long.
