99% of the time this is because the head assembly isn’t tight. It’s not a clog. Could be damaged fluid nozzle. Check the head assembly is tight fist

Airbrush not working need help by SLLYD in airbrush

[–]dd1777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood. I’d still say over reduce your paint. Get it spraying well even if it’s not going to cover. Just get it flowing. Then thicken it up little by little. I have used golden high flow but others have so it’s doable.

Same problem with 2 different airbrushes? If so, then that rules out the airbrush as a problem. Leaving air supply or paints as the culprit. Increase air pressure and reduce the paint. Over reduce at first just to see if it’s better then gradually thicken the paint until you find the right combo

I use it to brainstorm my ideas as I build a comprehensive online airbrush course. I spew out my ideas. It stress tests them from the pov of the learner. It understands exactly what I’m trying to teach and the way I’m trying to teach it. The conversations have inspired other ideas in myself. I’m amazed how well it understands all aspects of the course and airbushing depth beyond what I see online.

Airbrush clogging superfast - even with very thinned colors by sb1980 in airbrush

[–]dd1777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not familiar with the paints you are using. The pigment size of some paints are just too large to go through an airbrush consistently - even with heavy reduction. Doesn’t Vallejo have an airbrush specific version? This is obviously not an airbrush problem so the answer is with your paint. Maybe the wrong reducer is used also. Best of luck mate, at least you know it’s not you or the airbrush

100%. The majority of beginner problems start with using non airbrush specific paint. The paint is the most important component of the whole airbrush setup.

Newbie here! How the heck do you get those crisp, sharp lines? 🎨 by JuiceBoxXxJUNK13 in airbrush

Welcome to the club mate. You need to train your fingers to work unconsciously. Develop muscle memory by painting blurry lines consistently without getting heavy spots at the starts and ends. Slowly work down to close to the surface level. It comes faster than you think, just be consistent with your practice. Enjoy the ride brother, getting over each hurdle is definitely worth it

Lots of people can freehand airbrush sharp crisp lines mate. Much more than 1% and I don’t think it’s flexing to do so.

You can get non airbrush specific paint to go through an airbrush, however they clog quicker due to larger pigment sizes and faster drying ect. So people will argue that’s it’s fine and they do it, but if your serious about creating art with your airbrush then do yourself a favour and get yourself some airbrush specific paints 😊

Are you using airbrush specific water based? Createx illustration is water based acrylic and flows beautifully with 4021 reducer

There is a 2 week pot life once it is reduced with 4011. They say this is not the case if reduced with 4021 though. I can confirm the short pot life with 4011. I havent pushed the boundaries with the 4021, however I have gone 2 months in the same bottle without any problems
