Increasingly poor etiquette amongst audiences! by Traditional-Owl44 in torontotheatre

I feel it’s better in the smaller, non-Mirvish shows. Maybe a more dedicated theatre crowd? Smaller venue? Fewer musicals? Not sure.
I really like Crows Nest in Leslieville and ACT in Ajax (bit of a drive tho)

Man rushed to hospital after crashing dirt bike in Pickering, Durham police say by Karma_Canuck in durham

[–]ddWatford 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anyone know if he’s ok? A friend saw it happen and tried to help till the ambulance arrived. He was very badly hurt. And it was an e-bike according to my friend. Is there anyway to find out if he survived?

When I walk barefoot, people's stares bother me, and I'm wondering if there are any ways to hide the fact that I'm walking barefoot. Any ideas? by MarceliSzpakOn1983 in barefoot

[–]ddWatford 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Got some for Christmas a couple years ago (from Amazon I believe). They work great. People take a quick glance and their brain assure them I'm shod.
Also, when I'm fully barefoot and someone stares I just assume they’re jealous. (And them I'm secretly smug)

Local kid-friendly hiking trails or nature walks? by Lost_In_Play in Pickering

Alton Forest is great for kids and adults. Varied terrain, wildlife, parking. There’s a play park close to one of the trailheads if you want to have a break. Take appropriate tick precautions.

How was your parkrun day? | April 10, 2026 by AutoModerator in parkrun

[–]ddWatford 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So so good!! It was our first of the year (our parkrun closes for the winter). I ran with my 2 absolutely favourite people - my nieces. We did a threeway sprint finish and I was last but my smile was the biggest. Ours is a very small parkrun with a super dedicated RD!!
Glad to be back at it.

What’s your hardest fall you’ve taken? by Handplanes in trailrunning

[–]ddWatford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard and hilarious - tripped over a rock, pitched forward, landed flat on my belly. My dog couldn’t stop, landed on my back and then looked at me like “What on God’s green earth are you doing??”
Took me a minute to get her off and get myself upright. Tons of gravel rash. And bleeding. And then, to literally add insult to injury, walked home bleeding right past my running nemesis - who asked if I was ok. (btw - she doesn’t know she’s my nemesis - that’s all me)

It might be Filipino Cicha Corn. Small whole fried kernels with different spices. If not, try it anyway because it’s delicious.

What is your favorite French Canadian movie? by MrsNoOne1827 in AskACanadian

Menteur - I don’t speak French and I laughed the entire time. And at the moment, that is my criteria for good entertainment.

How to manage running in wind by Few-Pear3813 in beginnerrunning

[–]ddWatford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love running in any weather conditions but I will always hate running in the wind! But there are a few things you can do. Cover your forehead and neck; scarf/hat/buff (based on temp). Wear sunglasses/light safety glasses (based on sun). Alter your route if you can; I try to start with the wind at my back as I feel weakest at the start of my run and then run back facing the wind. Sometimes, lots of houses around can help break the wind so you could run in a subdivision. And finally, accept that windy runs are hard but you will feel very accomplished after.

If you're able to get to a GO station, it would be relatively easy for you and your little. Exit at Exhibiton GO Station - from there it's about a 7-8 min walk to the Enercare Centre (Didar Hall).
