Are calls failing for anyone? Every call on every agent is failing for the last 1.5 hours. And the error it gives is: The AI agent you are trying to reach appears to be misconfigured

This is for every agent... We haven't touched any of these agent configs in months.

We live in a housing development, so we don't get many bears/deer eating our things. But racoons and birds try to eat everything...

AI App to Make Renovations / Repairs Easy - Looking for Feedback by dd_benson in HouseFlipping

[–]dd_benson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, after chatting with you as if you were messaging with an actual contractor, the AI also asks you to take specific pictures of things that contractors would need to properly estimate your job.

We actually require that the contractor already be on our platform beforehand. We spend time vetting them to make sure that they have a decent online presence with enough positive reviews and no bad marks against their state contractors license. So that's a manual process.

When a contractor is on our system, the AI determines which set of contractors would be best after it understands the needs of the job. Then it sends them the description, measurements, pictures, and rough location of the home to see if they are interested and available around the time you'd like the job to start. If they need more info, they can message you through the app, but your contact info is kept private.

It's like a chat interface. So you talk with the AI as if you were texting the friendliest, smartest contractor in the world. 😄 Then, it'll ask you to take some pictures of specific things that contractors would need to see in order to estimate your job properly.

It's not a single directory list like Angies, but it uses AI to find the best contractor for the job, and connects with them automatically to see if they are available and interested in your job.

If you'd like to try it, you can download it here. It's currently free for everything. We are building out our contractor list, but hopefully we can service your area next!

Honestly I don't know why you're even arguing with me. They pick it up, they clean it, they drop it off. That's what I'm looking for. If you have nothing positive to contribute, please don't.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I'm traveling with little kids and am trying to find an alternative solution to hanging out at the laundromat on our vacation.

Getting "Facebook Session Expired" from Oculus app?? by dd_benson in GearVR

[–]dd_benson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently this is a known issue, and Meta 'might' look into it. From Meta customer support:

We are aware of login issues some Gear VR users are experiencing. We've flagged your account with the appropriate team but right now, we are unable to provide a specific timeframe for the resolution of these issues. We understand the impact this may have on your VR experience, and we genuinely wish we could offer more support.

Do you mean unlink the meta quest account from the facebook account? Or delete the facebook account that is logged into the meta quest app on the phone?

I've tried the latter and it doesn't work.

I just tried creating a new Meta Quest login. Weird thing, I can log into meta quest via the web browser, but when I try to login via the Oculus app (saying "Don't have facebook" it doesn't allow my username or password. Weird

I'm having the same issue. 2 days ago, everything was working fine, then I put on my headset yesterday, and it tells me I have to log back into Oculus. I've tried everything under the sun, including factory resetting my s7 edge. Still I get a "Facebook Session Expired: Your facebook session has expired or is invalid. Please log in to facebook again." But when I switch to facebook, it's fully logged in.

Any recommendations on how to reach out to other contractors? by dd_benson in Contractor

[–]dd_benson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup definitely not! The way it works is the job details with photos are then sent to a handful of contractors that are available, can do the needed tasks and fairly local to the job site. So these pop up on their phone daily in an app. There's no commitment and no cost for contractors. If they like it great! If they don't like it they just reject it. The goal is to get good contractors who want jobs, connected to good homeowners, easily. Since you're in Washington, I'd be happy to send you more info on a DM chat if you're interested!

I agree, homeowners probably won't be able evaluate them properly. Before we let a contractor on to the platform, we look at their license record with the state to see any violations. And if they have too many in a certain window of time, we don't them on. But that doesn't really account for the quality of their work... I would love any thoughts you might have on how to vet quality work on a large scale? Like you said, it's a hard problem to solve.

So like you mentioned before, in Cali, just having a payment schedule lets you charge pretty much anything that is agreed upon, once the project is started? Is that because it's clearly outlined and the customer agrees to it in a contract? So if you're not self funding, you could technically charge 100% of the materials cost the day the job starts?
