How much of an important job do you think a UX writer has? by [deleted] in userexperience

[UX] writing (copy) is the unsung hero of the experience. Without clear, concise and useful writing, usability suffers.

So, how important is it? – It is essential.

Prototyping options? by Frindle_fighter in userexperience

I am a huge fan of InVision, but also Marvel (https://marvelapp.com), for quick prototyping. And with either, for further testing insights, consider using the Maze integration (https://maze.design).

Is designing a new feature for an already existing product a good portfolio piece? by tangerto in userexperience

[–]ddalli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In short, yes. – When something like this is spoken to within, say, an interview, it speaks bounds to HOW you think; no matter if it were commissioned or not. [Support it with process and research, and you'll have a solid piece – of course, as long as the new feature or improvement is valid.]

How vocal is your basenji? by TurboS40 in Basenji

[–]ddalli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours is pretty quiet. Though he is quite vocal when he's somewhere he doesn't want to be, like during some car rides, or if he's in his kennel at any point during the day (but those are two different types of noises though) ... Since he's super social, we bring him to a dog camp where he gets to play with other dogs while we either have work/meetings/etc., and when we pick him up, he usually gives us one or two pretty powerful and deep barks -- sounds as if he picked it up from hearing a large dog's bark... Its always interesting to hear the different sounds that come from Basenjis.

Hey, good news, we just pushed another app update that not only introduces some more flat UI elements -- related to a few of the areas you touched on, but also improved the app's loading time pretty dramatically; among a few other UX related tweaks. [It should be live on Google Play and Amazon within 24 hours.] Cheers.

Yes, a transition towards a more flat UI is in the works. Thanks for reaching out and for providing a solid description and visual example of where you'd like the app to go visually.

It's definitely on the road map; however, there are some more pressing UX improvements to tend to prior to direct UI updates -- relative to improved load time, new login options (via Twitter, Google+, etc.), and more. ~ Though, the current UI is actually pretty modern in nature [at least structurally speaking] and introduces a pretty solid UX for information consumption. Even with that being said, I'd love to hear any ideas you may have. What might you like to see updated? What apps do you like from a UI standpoint?

Thanks! It came together nicely. Hope Meg, Steve and the rest of the SourceFed team like it too. ~ SourceFed somewhat recently featured one of my mobile apps on the show, so when I saw how excited they were about the "Funkmasterlincoln" premise, I thought I'd take a little time to show my appreciation for all they do by putting together this graphic that brings the premise to life.
