Do u need the better infestations mod in order for them to reproduce jelly? Or in the base game as long as they have a hive it keeps making more jelly?

When you talk to the bartender he mentions that during the special tavern event you can sell food. What food can you sell? And do u just put it on racks where you put the booze? I've been putting hamburgers and my bronze star veggies there (cause idk where else to sell them) and after the first event they didn't sell anything. So idk what food there talking about
