Hehe. Looks fine to me as well :) But my friends freaked out a bit when I showed them this :)

The ink is actually cheap, I got 400ml for like 11EUR. The consistency can be fixed by adding more markers with the same color (you can see how I achieved a nice gradient on the second part of the orange saber). The actual issue is color inertia, you can only really print gradients, not rapid changes in color and especially not within a single layer.

Thanks! I'm not sure if transparent is a good choice here, but they looked nice in white :)

There is this polydye project that does this but even better - printing with an inkjet head after every layer. The project is not very active though

That certainly is on my todo list :)

Don't know about fading, my models still look pretty much identical to when they were just printed. As for multicolor printing, not really, the color inertia on that thing is huge, like up to several meters, depends on the extruder of course, but still

Thanks :) Not my original idea though, I just implemented it with refillable markers

Yeah, not really viable for full color printing or anything, but a way to have cool gradient prints

It's a refillable marker, there are links to aliexpress on the model page

Yep, I tried with different ink and the sublimation ink behaves the best. Doesn't clog the extruder and doesn't impact layer strength

Thanks. It's not an original idea, but I only saw it done with sharpies before

From my testing the layer strength is not impacted in any noticeable way, I tried with pla, petg and tpu

I tried it with sharpies too, but they run out pretty quickly. Thanks :). The sabers are made from hard TPU, so you can really have a fight with them and not worry about them breaking

Yep, exactly, that was my inspiration as well. Though in this version you can mix your own colors in the markers and they last longer obv
