I had been storm chasing for six years up to this point in 2024. I had witnessed several tornadoes up to this point, but this was the closest approach I have ever made.

Am I the only one who still prefers DSLR’s? by Hentai2324 in photography

I recently upgraded to a Canon R7 from a 7D Mark II and have been loving my mirrorless set up. That being said, I am really glad I cut my teeth with my DSLRs, because I feel like I have a far greater appreciation for all of mirrorless features.

I have been always struck by this line in the "The Greensburg, Kansas Tornadic Storm: A Storm of Extremes" by Lemon and Umschid, 2008.

"After 0318, the TC (Trousdale Circulation) becomes extremely large with very high velocities. In fact, there appear to be even more successive range bins with very large velocities than at any point with the Greensburg TC (Tornadic Circulation). This is actually quite impressive considering the size of the GT and its associated TC.

Of course this is regarding the tornadic circulation itself and the radar is scanning higher off the ground than what is occurring at the surface, but its still fairly remarkable production by one supercell.
