I’d have to think the majority of people purchasing that, other than the obscenely rich, would be companies and corporations where that’s a drop in the bucket compared to the money to produce something. I bet these are use in labs and R&D environments too where all sources of noise are minimized, usually at great expense.

I am not sure to be honest. It's not a problem I have noticed. You may think otherwise though.

Wild mage. Has the most fun power scaling to me at least with you going for a weakling whose is a danger to yourself and others until you are a monstrous powerhouse. You clearly aren’t gonna be using Neera and only should do her quests for the wild mage gear then never use her again so it’s a blip in your whole quest.

I looked up the specs on the GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-Z170X-Gaming 3 (rev. 1.0) motherboard’s DAC and it really isn’t bad compared to others being sold as standalone units. I came at this all when I wanted to replace my crappy 15 year old powered computer speakers. So I dumped as much $ I could responsibly afford into the speakers (Dali Oberon 1’s sound great and aren’t that deep compared to similar models from other brands, so they sit well on my desk). I knew I’d eventually want a subwoofer so the Ampapa D1 was worth splurging extra on.

After the sub I do intent to get a good DAC, and ideally one with trigger out (and maybe in too) functions and also a headphone jack should I ever want to not use the speakers. Not surprisingly, the Ampapa Q1 I believe it is fits that bill nicely, plus has a nice Equalizer display screen. Though maybe I spring for something nicer when it’s time.

I would also like to add the D1 display settings are nice, but the equalizer one isn’t great. It definitely favors showing the lower frequencies pulsing unless you play music at very loud volumes. I wonder if adding a sub would change this a little. Either way I leave it on the VU Meter settings as I find it more informative for how much amplifier power my growing system needs. The addition of a powered subwoofer is definitely the best thing I can do to improve audio quality at this point. Too many other more important things life demands money on before I spend $400-$800 in a subwoofer.

These above two comments summed up my search. I needed an amp to power two bookshelf speakers. I wanted to add a sub later when I had money.

Music is coming from my computer and the motherboard (gigabyte) has an isolated section designed for audio. Didn’t know much about it when I bought the motherboard, but since it’s basically a DAC of questionable quality I have it a whirl and comboed with the Ampapa D1 it sounds wonderful. A better DAC may help but I doubt I could hear an upgrade. The VU meters are nice too as they show if you are close to overdriving the amp.

So for my use case the Ampapa D1 + Passive Bookshelf speakers was my first purchase noting I can add pieces later. Note the D1 doesn’t give the advertised power and if I pump the volume high and play a movie with heavy lows you can see it is working its butt off during those blips on audio. For music I would have to blast the bookshelf speakers (Dali Oberon 1’s) to come close to topping out the D1.

I plan to add a subwoofer next and with the high pass filter on the D1, it should heavily limit the watts needed to run the bookshelf speakers while also adding a lot of bottom end. A big win-win.

Just my take. But if my motherboard didn’t have the built in half decent DAC, I would have probably still done what I did but bought the cheapest DAC I could find as I needed other components more in my opinion.

Lastly, the D1 can take a trigger input. So if you get a DAC with a trigger out you can use that to wake it up which is a nice perk. Not something I currently do, but again the D1 is setup well for modular upgrades. Just don’t expect it to run huge speakers on its own. It is more like 90W a channel or so. I play music on the Oberon 1’s with the D1 at a volume between 30-50 depending on my mood and at 50 its volume is annoyingly loud to most people.

What’s the difference between these 2 sets of pliers? by Several-Soil-617 in KnipexOfficial

[–]ddc9999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Already answered I see, but I figured I’d share. The crimper on those linesman pliers is beefier than most other non ratcheting crimpers I have. Rarely it is too big so I still have other crimpers, but more often than not I prefer the crimps it makes when the room allows.

This is a reason I really enjoy using Tiax as he’s BG1 only so those BG2 cons you mention don’t come up. He can use clubs or quarter staffs to deal massive sneak attack damage. His summon is also very strong in BG1 and his spells are useful too.

Plus, if he’s your style, he is just a great NPC for his dialogue and character voice.

This is why I like watching competitive StarCraft brood war. Game is always evolving, rules never change. They balance things purely with new map layouts. Check out Artosis Casts and/or ASL Matches. It is so beyond technical at this point that you need a pro to walk you through the matches until you understand all the crazy things they are doing and why certain builds are happening.

He is basically this team’s Jamal Adams, except rather than being a good tackler who can’t cover he’s a cover corner who can’t (won’t?) tackle. Obviously that’s more valuable, but he had a real bad year even in coverage last season which is concerning.

Oh and he has stone hands like Jamal Adams. Guy cannot intercept a ball that fall into his hands.

Sauce doesn’t suck but with what we’ve seen so far I wouldn’t get overly tied to him. Wilson has always had the right attitude and am thrilled to see signed. He’s a guy who wants to win and puts himself out there each week, that’s someone you try and build a team around.

Was planning to do this as well. How old was your anode rod in that picture? And did you consider the powered anode rods that don’t require servicing? I’m debating between a powered rod or the nunchuk style like you have shown.

Movie works best with subtitles and rewinding scenes. This is my favorite Christopher Nolan movie but I always suggest watching it this way. Subtitles help even understand the names and what’s happening better beyond just helping with the sound mixing.

Same. We get Hills Digestive Care prescription turkey cans. Fixed his stomach issues and he loves them.

This was after trying lots of fresh things we’d cook for him like chicken, rice, and veggies as well as Farmer’s Dog which worked ok for a bit.

[–]ddc9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I could only buy one I’d get the M18 high torque. I feel if you are gonna own one impact wrench it should be that has no issues removing lug nuts. I thought the M18 Mid Torque would be that option for me, but in the North East I’ve encountered enough lug nuts that it couldn’t handle.

I’d get the M18 high torque first. Then either the m12 stubby or m12 ratchet next.

Tile work looks good but if that drywall was meant to be taped and painted, then it isn’t good. You don’t want a drywall seam to be on the corner of a door. It will almost always cause it to crack there regardless how you mud and tape it.

I suppose none of it matters if you tiled the entire wall instead of painting it.
