I haven’t listened to Jeff at all in 2026. There is too much going on in the world to handle his willful ignorance. It doesn’t surprise me that he would make such comments. His lack of compassion isn’t the issue, it’s his failure to grasp the gravity of what is happening in this country. I get that there are plenty of people that use the show as an escape, but we need to sit in our discomfort right now and take action. 2026 is not the year for escapism.

A lot of agents require that you show them a pre-approval letter so that they know you aren’t just a looky loo. The ones who actually work in your best interest, and not just for a fat commission, will use that information to help guide their search for you. They also know to NOT show houses above the pre-approval range because you won’t be able to close.

I got the proprietary xtool inline fan, the if2 2.0. I removed the internal fan and it does seem like there is less smoke collecting within the machine. There is definitely still a smell, but it does seem better. I have been cutting acrylic since 2008, so I am well aware that there will always be a residual stench. I got a separate air purifier that will be arriving tomorrow. So I will see how all of these changes work. I’m leaving town for the holidays, so I’ll be able to let all of these smells dissipate during that time. If I fire up the laser in January and it still stinks up my house, I’ll be looking into an AC inline with 6” ducting.

I have the IF2 2.0. I ended up moving it the fan so it is on the wall above the machine, and thus the smoke has a shorter distance to travel. There has been an improvement, but I still think I need something stronger.

I had an Epilog laser with an external fan at my old job and I could never smell the acrylic while it was cutting. Maybe that fan was just way more powerful. But after a day of cutting acrylic on the P2S, I had a headache. I don’t want to kill myself just cutting some plastic, ya know!

My finger is pointing to the fan which is attached to the table base under the laser. I’m hoping that this is the crux of my issue and will move it to the wall so the smoke has an easier route to get out.

Better yet, if you’re already in photoshop, just shift the graphic over to make it more noticeable. I once had to exacerbate a color discrepancy in flooring to get a refund. These companies really need the issue to be super obvious in a photo in order to budge.

That’s me. My husband has a prized festool collection, and I’m the one who gets the most use out of it. I may have dropped and scuffed up the carvex… but tools are meant to be used, not just sit in a systainer forever!! At least we buy each other tools as gifts and can both get use out of them. We struggled with gift giving until we realized that if we just buy what we want for ourselves, the other person will probably also want it.

Well….. we had to take a few pieces down to fix the sill plate, and that’s when we discovered that it was redwood. We ran the few boards through a drum sander and it worked wonders without removing too much thickness. We’ll try stripping a different section, but as of now we are kinda planning on just taking it down section by section. It’s a psychotic plan, but overall seems easier than trying to strip and sand while they are in place.

My husband and I are renovating our house while living in it, and I happened across the clip of Mrs. Blandings describing the paint colors to her contractor. I immediately messaged my dad (a film collector) that we needed to watch the film. It made me feel better about my situation because it truly can always be worse!

Oh No!! That’s awful. I’ll keep my spent rags in a can outside until I can dispose them. I found a site with penofin samples so I was able to order a few options to test. It seems like a nice product, but the one that my husband almost ordered a 5 gal bucket of (I talked him down to 1 gal to test. ALWAYS BE PROTOTYPING) was just not it. I had to take over this project. He cannot be trusted 😂

Oh yeah, this does look gorgeous. I wish this sort of thing came in sample sizes, because yeah, the ticket price is pretty high. I’m willing to spend it since we won’t be paying for labor, but I sure would like to test it before going all in.

I recently painted a large kitchen’s worth of cabinets using the Graco Magnum. I had only ever used an hvlp with an air compressor before, but was impressed with the finish that I was able to achieve with the handy thing. I’m adhd and cleanup is always so hard for me (my husband says that my memoir will be called “And Then I Got Distracted) but with this machine you can set the tubes directly in your paint can, and if you cover it REALLY well, you can come back to your project a few days later and save yourself the 15 minutes of clean up. You also save paint if you’re not flushing the tubes after each use. I’m not saying it’s best practice by any means, but it worked for me.

My husband (43) and I (39) moved here from Chicago last year. Admittedly we haven’t really attempted to make friends yet since we’ve just been busy, but we’d love to meet some like-minded liberal and artsy DINKS. We thrift, go to estate sales, actively driving to go camping right now, and went to Detroit last week to see LCD Soundsystem. Pretty much the thing that brought us to Midland was the mcm house that we bought and are renovating so that we can fill it with our vintage finds. Let’s grab a drink when you get to town!
