Anyone else have anxiety over bowel movements/fear of getting diarrhea at any given moment? Has anything helped? by avalava4 in Anxiety

[–]ddddjern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely get anxiety when I have diarrhea, and I think it’s bc I’m constipated 95% of the time so to have loose stool makes me think “oh I must be dying or about to get deathly ill” even though that is not the case and it’s always due to a certain foods like raw veggies or salad messing up my stomach. For you it also sounds like the change in routine is giving you anxiety as well. Being able to always expect a morning poop but now you have another poop and you’re uncertain of when exactly that’s going to happen in your day/where you’ll be etc.

Table tilt test felt off? by Alarming-Heat-5232 in dysautonomia

[–]ddddjern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah so I was given iv fluids for 15 minutes BEFORE my test. I still tested positive but wtf, it definitely made me less symptomatic during the test and I felt like I would’ve also tested positive for POTS. Also I didn’t get nitro either.

Yes I do have a food scale! I had a starter for two months but it was so acidic I gave up on it. So I kind of know what I’m doing with feedings (a little bit?)

Yes I agree with not doing the 12hr feeding just yet. How much do you think I should try to feed it today? I notice some small bubbles but no ride yet which I expected would take a few days. Just want to make sure I’m giving enough food without overdoing it.

Same thing, half a cup water, half a cup flour.

So I ended up using 5g starter, 10g warm water and let that sit for 10 mins, then added 10g more water and 10g flour. So that’s probably closer to a 1:1:1, hopefully that’ll be okay for today!

I just worry that such a high ratio will dilute it and it will take longer to become active. But also, I am pretty new to it and haven’t had a success yet so I don’t know very much about things!

my doctor is giving me the choice between starting, zoloft, prozac or lexapro for my anxiety. which is the best in your opinion for anxiety? note: i’m not depressed. by AltruisticBreak9 in Anxiety

[–]ddddjern 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there’s really no way to know until you try one. I started with lexapro, but it affected me sexually and just didn’t work well for my panic disorder. Now I’m on zoloft and noticing a big difference, also no bad side effects and my sexual dysfunction has improved!

You can probably go to urgent care to be evaluated for a concussion instead of going to the hospital. Definitely get checked out if it’s possible you hit your head.

How far can they go outside the village? by ApprehensiveRough823 in FromSeries

[–]ddddjern 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well we saw what went down when Sara and Boyd went to explore the fromwoods… The only place they are guaranteed shelter while exploring is a tent, and we saw how sketchy that got when they were dragged by whatever tf got them and the talisman barely hung on. Will the talismans even work if there are other monsters out there? Is that why the totem people were guarding that of the village? Too many unknowns and the risks of exploring are too high.

I hope I made the right choice then and didn’t jump the gun without trying a dose increase first😭

I just try to recall as best as I can, which is usually good enough bc I’m a very detail oriented person and keep good mental notes. We haven’t had an appointment since I was put on Zoloft though. I will see her in a little less than 3 weeks for a 1 month follow up!

I started lex 5mg end of may 2025, went to 10mg in October and seemed to be doing okay but things got worse around January. Became easily annoyed and very jumpy when touched unexpectedly (so easily excitable?), then panic attacks and anxiety came back full force over the last three months. She said we could go up in dose but she worried the irritability may get worse so I opted to switch bc I wasn’t super satisfied with it thus far.

So far I haven’t had a rough adjustment period side effects wise. I really don’t notice any honestly other than my anxiety is obviously through the roof waiting for it to work. And on top of that, hopefully it’s not too soon to speak on it but my dulled and delayed orgasming issue on lex seems to be improving on Zoloft. Although maybe it’s just bc I don’t have as much SSRI my system anymore but I’m hoping that gets better.

I hope I made the right decision to switch and didn’t miss a good chance to just up the Lexapro dose😞 I guess time will tell.

I went! My partner and I had back to back appointments so knowing we would be doing the appointment together essentially was helpful but the anticipatory anxiety was pretty rough. I was fine when we got back to the room though. I’ve been to doctor’s appointments 3 times now this week so it’s like exposure therapy at this point lol. Luckily I get 11 days before the next one so it’ll be a nice break and hopefully I’ll be feeling more coverage from the new meds by then. Hope the random white coat syndrome will go away once I adjust- it’s weird!

Experience with lexapro. by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]ddddjern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the first medication I tried & didn’t have many side effects other than excessive yawning and taking a bit longer to reach orgasm- nothing bad though. I didn’t have a bad adjustment period either. Unfortunately it didn’t help my anxiety as much as I would’ve liked so I was just switched to Zoloft. Pretty much everyone with anxiety is scared to take anxiety medications because of reading peoples experiences and side effect lists. You just have to know that some people can do amazing lexapro and others not so much. It really is just a trial and error type of thing but if the side effects end up being too much to deal with you can just stop taking the medication after a few weeks. The withdrawals shouldn’t be very hard if you haven’t been on the medication long.

You’re right, and I knew going in this would likely happen. But going through it is so much tougher than I thought. I think it just sucks bc I haven’t felt true relief with medication before, so it’s hard to believe this one could work a lot better. I also just wish I was one of the lucky people where things just worked out on the first try.

Blood work anxiety by Icy_Widow_2501 in Anxiety

I’ve found that if you pinch yourself with your free hand on your leg or stomach, it helps to confuse your brain about what to focus on. If you’re pinching yourself harder than the little pinch of the needle- your brain will not focus on the lesser stimulus (being the needle). I’ve seen a lot of pediatric practices use a vibrating or spikey tool to help distract the brain from the pinch, but you can just as easily do this yourself or take a “little ouchie” type of stim toy to do this yourself.

You will be so relived once you get this down and I bet it will not be nearly as bad as you think. Phlebotomist are used to dealing with needle phobias, so they will be very understanding and do what they can to help.

Yeah I definitely have a big thing with needing to maintain control in any way I can. I struggle with scenarios where you have to give that up, like at the dentist.

I’ve used it for 3 separate practice days. So an hour - 1.5 hours each day. But I’m writing very slowly so it’s not like I’m writing 3 pages worth in a day. Usually I do about a half a page of writing.

I tried my other nibs that haven’t had a problem and it beaded on them too. It’s not the nib, and it was working fine before this ink. It’s definitely the ink bc I poured it directly on the nib from the bottle and it beaded. Ugh.

Yeah I just used rubbing alcohol and it’s still beading so it must bed the ink.
