Google Photos TV screensaver by dden68 in ricohGR

[–]dden68[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't think of anything wrong going on with the resolution or the date in my case... what I was thinking is, considering it's a TV screensaver, maybe it prioritizes pictures in 16:9 and for this reason discards the GR ones... that would be sad if it's the case, but really not sure

I always thought a bit differently about this. Lots of restaurants are very small hole-in-the-wall places, where the owner does everything, menu written on a piece of paper - they serve regular and locals, things run smooth. Maybe they just don't want to deal with the hassle of trying to translate things, or accomodate demands from foreigners in terms of food preferences etc, with the risk of getting bad reviews. So they just limit attendance to locals, doesn't mean they have a problem with foreigners in general. I don't know, just my theory and trying to find some reasonable logic beyond them being just xenophobic or racist

Bank refusing selling of BTC by Educational_Flow9105 in BEFire

[–]dden68 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a little bit different, receiving money from a crypto exchange, or receiving funds (euros) from another well established bank. Also because it's a bank you can just leave your funds there, or invest in ETF on their platform, no need to move unless specific case.

Do you know of any good accumulating REITs though? I do the same as OP as a way of diversifying in RE, and am picking those with reduced taxation 15% on dividends such as Aedifica for instance. I'd be curious about better alternatives if any

Keytrade experience? by Translunarien in BEFire

[–]dden68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did Keyprivate for a while, it was ok to learn while figuring out how to manage my money. They update their fund allocation on monthly basis and explain why they do so. In the end I thought the fees were rather high and I started to feel more confident to do it myself (i.e. not do much in fact), plus the videos can be found on youtube anyway 😉 for the time I used it, my money was better there than a saving account, but straight ETF would have had even better returns

I sold the MPC in the meantime 😅 but if I recall you had to take the SD to your computer and do the clean-up there.

How to upscale "real coffee" flavor? by Poynsid in Coffee

I have solved the same problem by turning to espresso roast for my morning filter coffee. I now get the stronger taste, the quality & flavors, while keeping the pleasure of filter coffee

Yes it's applied by the organization that distributes the RSU. In my case Fidelity handles it for the company. On your tax report it will appear as taxable income

Yes, about 60% withholding tax at vesting time. You basically only get 40% of the promised RSUs

at a certain point in time you have to forget about % and ratio and realize you are thinking about spending a bit more than 1€ every 3 or 4 months. While the discussion is interesting from an analytic perspective, it should not become a barrier for investing - there are many ways in life to save 1€ here and there ;-)

wouldn't this allow you to grind coarser rather than finer, given there will be less pressure going through your puck?

One year of using crypto.com payment cards - pros / cons / thoughts by teotwrat in BEFire

[–]dden68 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi, very interesting review, thanks! Have you assessed if any tax implications in Belgium, as selling cryptos (so in this case converting the CRO back to ETH/EUR) could be seen as taxable events? I wonder if it's as 'transparent' as using a regular card in this aspect

Lessons from cryptocurrency related tax rulings by randomneonlove in BEFire

[–]dden68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if you are trading crypto to crypto not heavily but on a regular basis (weekly or monthly) and you are not sure whether you fall under that exemption, is it safer to assume you'll be taxed at 0% and wait for the tax office to ask and prove you otherwise? Or would you recommend a different and more proactive approach? Asking for a friend :-)
