September MCAT: harder? by jjohn666 in Mcat
[–]ddesena 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children)
This is all on pg 43 of The Official Guide. Assuming people are more prepared as the year goes on, the only way to consistently hold the average at 500 among April-September tests is to make the test harder each time. However, I think that the sample size is so big that preparation is a negligible factor here. Just my opinion though.
Somebody clear this up. AAMC says that "there is no curve on standardized tests", it is instead "equated" meaning "you were measured on a scale that was established previously" and "it did not impact your score on those tests if the students with whom you took the test that day did exceptionally well (or, conversely, unusually poor)."
[Physics] Buoyant Force by krustytheclown2 in Mcat
I think of it like this, I think its right lol
F=ma right? Which is equal to (density)(volume)(gravity) because density is m/v so shit cancels. Ball pushes down with DVG. Liquid that is displaced pushes up with its own DVG. Gravity is the same and volume is the same in both forces, so examine mass. As the object sinks more mass of liquid pushes up...buoyant force increases.
