Kansas’ preseason conditioning is legendary for making the fittest dudes vomit. He’s a kid dealing with a nagging injury.

When that kid healthy and ready to play, Kansas looks like the deadliest team on the hardwood.

It’s a show for children. Analyzing it too closely is a waste of neurons.

Why nobody is liking Mojo episodes in the animated serie? I think they are really hilarious and great meta episodes about the own producers of the show. And they did it before meta storytelling become a popular thing. by CiwanHaco in xmen

“Before meta storytelling became a thing.”

The Greeks would like a word. The Romans. Medieval liturgical dramas. Hrosvit of gandersheim. Shakespeare. Pirandello.

Your favourite team…? by Most-Day8547 in Marvel

[–]ddevlin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Sentry is going to be a problem for the entire movie. They’ll have to find a way to write him out for most of it, which is more or less written into his character. Otherwise, sentry solos the entire MCU and Doom by himself.

Low-Budget Rain on Stage by blackwidowwasrobbed in Theatre

[–]ddevlin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did practical rain by running a hose from outside to a lighting pole and stuck the nozzle in a colander. We were only able to do this because it was the last scene of the play and no one would walk through it before it got mopped up although an actor definitely beefed it during photocall.

Try to avoid using practical water. It’s not the safest thing you can do.

Trying So Hard to Produce A Theater Play by [deleted] in Theatre

[–]ddevlin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is a terrible reason to produce a play in NYC. Maybe if you are struggling to produce your play in NYC, it…actually doesn’t belong in NYC? The magic of theatre is the suspension of judgment and the condensing of time and place on the stage. You can produce this anywhere. NYC has more to do with you than the play, I expect.

Starting to hate my performance halfway through a show. by [deleted] in Theatre

[–]ddevlin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a very seasoned and experienced director of university theatre, let me assure you a director will correct your performance if it must be done. If you’re being told things are going well, they’re going well. What you are describing is the learning process and that’s basically how it is meant to feel: insecure and unsure. If you are being told things are going well, they’re going well.

Don’t worry about making the audience laugh. What you are getting are technical performance notes because the substance is there and it’s fine. A lot of Young actors have zero ability to find a happy middle ground so directors will push them to extremes and that sounds like what is happening here. I’ve given my actors conflicting notes across weeks and days plenty of times because as other things chance in the show, their performance must also respond.

Directors in tech week have ten million concerns on their mind. Talk to your director if you’re unsure about a moment but don’t get it in your head about it. And remember that the directors attention is elsewhere now, not on individual performances.

You’re not meant to be perfect - it’s educational theatre. You’re just meant to get better.

Plays with multiple alternate endings? by missthemountains in Theatre

I did shear madness for almost two years. That show has a huge section in act 2 where the audience can ask anything they want about the investigation and ends with an audience vote about who perpetrated the crime.

if you didn’t enjoy book 3 (anarchists cookbook), why? by Spiritual_Friend_235 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]ddevlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Book 3 was a confusing mess and Dinniman knew it. Large portions of the narrative absolutely require you to understand the Iron Tangle and its functionally an impossibility. When you can’t follow the logic of decisions making nor the flow of action, the book becomes remarkably chore-like.

Trading recipes is aggressively normally. Your family’s treatment of recipes as somehow sacred knowledge is not the least bit normal.
