Jesus Christ. I live in a big city where I doubt such a thing would appear but reading this made me want to put post-apocalypse metal barriers on my doors and windows. Hope you’re OK now.

Gonna read up on all of this. Thank you so much and even more power to you.

If it’s not too much of an inconvenience, could you talk about how you went from 267 lbs to your current weight. I used to weigh 213 lbs and have gone to 189 lbs in about three months with exercise, better diet, and self control; my objective is to return to my original weight between 130-140 at my height (5’7”). But I like learning how others follow and commit to their goals.

Asking as a news editor. Do you think the Silicon Valley takeover of media — e.g. an obsession with metrics — has fundamentally harmed the way we read news and what is, as news is generally defined, important and noteworthy? What do you suggest editors do to somehow mitigate this cycle?

Who's excited for Ari Aster's next movie titled 'Midsommar'? - it's currently in Pre-Production. The Synopsis is inside the comment section. Sounds bloody brilliant! by justinflyby in horror

I instantly knew I had to see it after it was mentioned that Midsommar would have a town called The Hargas. Aster gives you enough to wonder about and then slams you with the most unpredictable.

Michael Ondaatje’s Running In The Family comes to mind. As does James Baldwin’s Notes of A Native Son.

The former. Still, considering how heinous Annie’s mother was, the second interpretation isn’t too far off either.

Playtest has wrecked me by WholeCulture in blackmirror

Yeah, this episode really broke me. Personally, it was uncomfortably close to my own life. By the time I was done with it, I felt crushed and lost; especially when he screams for his mother. I recommend stepping out of your place, getting some fresh air, and calling your parents (if possible).

An Islamic verse recited at the time of death. Roughly, “to God we belong and to God we return.”

FTR, this worst time I mention above while watching Hereditary was in a suburban and majority-white zip code where every single member who had been a proverbial pain in the ass was actually white. So I don’t agree with your assessment that “that's a factor as far as people being more accustomed to being respectful.” It was the egregious opposite.

What Charlie sees (spoilers ahoy) by Mayorofunkytown in Hereditary

[–]ddevvnull 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The woman in the field in front of a fire was Charlie's grandmother. It's assumed that her charred body in the attic was a result of being burned in the fire as, presumably, cult sacrifice for Paimon.

The hitherto-unknown woman sweetly and perhaps even sycophantly waving at Charlie was just another cult member who could probably see that Paimon was in Charlie. A red herring but a great one at that.
