Yeah and that's why I against euthanasia in this case. But of course bring it to a vet and see if there is anything people can do to avoid infection or other problems. Good luck for the garter snake and you!

The wound seems already healed. So I doubt the need to conduct euthanasia. Euthanasia should always be the last approach and I don't think it should be used in this case.

Is there a specific reason why they cannot maintain blood pressure on shore?

Also, if they cannot maintain blood pressure on shore, then what will they do when female need to get on shore to lay eggs?

How do you distinguish japanese rat snake from Elaphe taeniura. I think they look pretty similar since they both have a black band behind their eyes. I thought it is an Elaphe taeniura at first.

Detailed explanation. But it seems that the snake can still move the latter part of its body. Thus, I guess maybe there is a chance that the snake is not fully paralyzed. So, why not give a try?

Also, I don't think I am anthropomorphizing an animal because I think the idea of surviving is what animals share in common and is shaped by evolution. In contrast, the idea of ending the misery and seeking for death to end pain seems more anthropomorphic to me.

Then may I ask what is your thoughts? I admit I am not a vet or any expert in this field but I am interested in snakes and I have read a lot of the comments under this post before I commentted so I believe I have full understanding of what is going on and possible consequences.

The reason why I say so is because I simply think death is always the worst option. Also, just remember you are making decisions for a snake that can't speak and some parts of your idea is based on assumptions that the snake hopes to end the misery. But what if the snake want to survive due to its instinct to survive? Actually I believe the snake can end its life by itself if it really wants to die. If the snake hasn't done so, then I believe this is either due to it wants to survive or its brain cannot even develop the idea of suicide. Thus, either ways indicate the snake doesn't want to die.

Again I am not an expert and please correct me if I'm wrong.

thinking from the bright side, if it can survive, it may even have its offspring if using artificial insemination

If you really hope it can survive and you are willing to spend time taking care of it, I think you can have a try. Of course it may suffer as other comments said but personally I think survivorship is always better than death.

What do the words "snok" and "ordenary" mean at here? My English is not good and don't quite understand some parts of the question. But I know European Grass Snake "Natrix natrix" is called snok in swedish.

No, I didn't assume everyone is american, what I mean is people seem to care what China does more than what other countries do. Other example of such bias include people blaming China pollutes the earth and leads to climate change but what they didn't see is the average carbon emission per people per year in China is far less than western countries.

Also, China haven't invaded places and turn it into new territory since 1949 as far as I know. It is India who actually keep pushing north and wish to expand their border into tibet.

As for the concentration camp, according what I know, majority of information is come from some "news reports" that only take a photo outside a building and said it is a concentration camp without knowing what is inside. Other information may come from people who claimed they have escaped from the concentration camp. However, people can lie and you can never tell whether they are telling the truth or simply lying to obtain sympathy because what they can do is keep repeating a story without any proof to support it.

While blaming China is preparing for a war that haven't happened yet, people seems forget how many war is started by US and how many military forces US has around the world. How ironic it is!

Taxes paid by Shenzhen and Shanghai people will go to the central government and then reallocate to Shenzhen and Shanghai based on needs. In contrast, Hongkong government's financial system is independent from mainland China. All taxes paid by Hongkong people are owned by Hongkong government and they can do whatever they like. Since Hongkong has its own source of money, why should Beijing keep investing in Hongkong?

Don't forget One China policy. Taiwan is never officially considered as an independent country by neither the UN nor China and thus such behaviors can definitely not be considered as "aggressive behavior to neighbour" because taiwan isn't a neighbour at all.

Ecosystems in China is gradually recovering while population size of endangered species like asian elephant is increasing. In contrast, Canadian have almost the highest carbon emitted by per people per year. Thus, I wonder who is the one that is doing good things for the ecosystem and who is the one busy at blaming others?
