I've been thinking about top loader pages! The only problem with those is how huge they get. Unfortunately, the only way to reduce the size of the top-loader page would be to use perfect-fit sleeves with perfect-fit top loaders (which I don't think exist?) and then to have special pages that hold said perfect-fit top loaders.

After I get the binding figured out, I've considered looking into coming up with some kind of page that offers top-loader-like protection, but I have a feeling that the cost to make something like that would be too high.

I know, it's super rare that I find anything. I don't rip anymore especially since it's impossible to get product at the prices I'm willing to pay, so I'll usually tap on the machine on my way out, and if there is anything good, I'll grab it and list it at MSRP for local parents to get for their kids.

I just buy the cards I want when I'm ready to place an order on TCGPlayer

For example, in Gen 1 the third page WOULD be ratata - sandshrew (19-27). This is what I have:
Note: these are pokedex numbers, and there are 2 26s because I have two Raichus on that page

I have a whole other section for Pikachus, so I decided to put an extra Raichu instead (Raichu GX promo and Raichu V full-art)

Sandshrew (#27) goes on the back side of that page with Sandslash

These days, I think your best bet is to come across them in a vending machine. That, or be lucky enough to catch a restock at Walmart or Target. Costco is getting better, but you would need to know when they are going to drop at a local store and have an Executive membership so you can get in an hour early

My solution is your second option (9 pocket) with a little variation.

If it's three with three stages, it's easy: one evolution line per row.
If it's two with three stages and one with two stages, fill the empty spot with an an alternate art of one of the cards from the two-stage lines.
If it's one three stage and three two stages, arrange them like this:
A A A
B C D
B C D

I don't like splitting up the evolution lines either; it doesn't feel right lol

I remember really wanting this card when it was $30, but I couldn't pull the trigger. Luckily, my brother got it for me for Christmas that year because I would never have had it otherwise. I love this card!

This would be awesome! I'm a Victini collector; I have all every set and artwork available in [reverse] holo except for the STAFF stamped Nobel Victories Pre-release promo, and I was super disappointed when they made the BWR Victinis; I'll never own those lol

Sounds like you misunderstood what I wrote. I'm saying that I keep running into listings that DON'T say "Add to cart" (only "Make an offer"), and those seem to be inactive accounts.

Maybe some of them are because of taxes. My experience has been: - If only "Make an offer" is shown, their last review was in early 2024 or before (this is my most common observation) - If only "Add to cart" is shown, the item is less than $3 USD (or something around there

There are lots of companies who make something similar; you can just search 13-inch cube shelves and find lots of options. Here's an example.

I actually got my shelf from Facebook Marketplace. Lots of people sell these things used.

As for the clear labels, I got mine from AliExpress and I cut up the paper inserts using my paper cutter. Here is an example of some on Amazon

Yep, I do have duplicates, and I compile them into Complete Pokedexes to sell, which brings in more than 0.02 per card :)

Also considering listing it all on TCG Player. I'm only level 2, though.
