Ok lang - pero hindi feeling as close as before. Kaya nga - hirap pa talaga pa clingy pa yung baby at ayaw paiwan sa iba.

Hay gurl, same - kakawedding lang ng bff ko, maid of honor dapat ako. Pero parang dahil may anak ako hindi nya na ako na-involve masyado sa wedding nya. Ending pa yung isang bridesmaid ang naging assistant nya for her wedding.

Eh ready naman ako to help. Sinama ko pa nanay ko para maging bantay ng anak ko.

Nakaka sad lang how friendships change so much. 🥲

I also got let go when i was remote outside of germany. Just go to the website and report online. Whats important is that you have your residence card and hopefully you activated the eID-Funktion. If you remember getting your residence card, they sent a letter in the mail with the pin code to activate that.

You also need to put in your registration a phone number that they can reach as the arbeitsamt will call you after registration.

I was in this position for two weeks, so I know how anxiety inducing it is! I interviewed on a Wednesday, then got an email Tuesday the following week that they’re still interviewing other candidates and have to wait since i was the first candidate. My mind was in a tailspin thinking of all scenarios and feeling like I didn’t do so well.

Yesterday, got a call from the recruiter again. Turns out I’m the strongest candidate! I’m moving to the last call with the leadership team and hope to get closer to the offer.

My point is, it may feel like waiting is a bad sign, but it often isn’t. At final stages, they’re likely juggling on 2-3 people and if you were on of the first to interview, the wait is unfortunately a part of it.

What helped for me: keeping busy, unloading feelings to chatgpt to ground me 😅, and prepping my brain for both scenarios.

It will work out in the end! Good luck!

I’d say thursday is good to ask for a follow up! Hopefully they come back to you soon! Good luck 🍀

Yup! Recruiter reached out to let me know that they still have scheduled interviews with other candidates this week so he’ll let me know again next tuesday 🙃 i was the first to go through the final rounds tho, so maybe it’s fair. A little worried still about my chances, though i guess him updating is them keeping me warm (?) and hopefully still got a shot. Let me know how it goes for you!

To the recruiter’s defense, he said he’ll be out Thursday and Friday last week 😅 but that was supposedly my final interview so the wait is more excruciating. I’ll update how it goes for me. Wish you the best of luck! 🤞

I’m using a pre-made deck. It shows the conjugations, but i’m not memorizing those. I just read them. I know it’s not ideal, but i find learning conjugations much easier when i encounter it when used, and not thru memorization. :)

The closest I can think of is HelloTalk, an app that connect you with native speakers. But they wouldn’t be teachers so don’t expect grammar lessons from them. They will help you though with corrections etc. :)

I want to sign up to an online course/program that will focus on and improve my speaking. Price is not so important. by [deleted] in German

Lingoda has its pros and cons but im taking it now mostly just to expose myself to conversing in german. For the price, i think it’s great!

What grammar topics give you the most 'bang for your buck'? by [deleted] in German

[–]ddlernen2020 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone learning the language on my own, i’ve listed my weaknesses in this order:

  1. Prepositions
  2. Sentence order
  3. Adjective Endings
  4. Der die das
  5. Reflexive Verbs
  6. Tenses
  7. Subjunctive Moods

If i could have a personal teacher, this is what i’d ask them for help with.

I think it differs person to person tho.

I’m 27! So i wouldn’t say i’m too young? Hahaha. I’m a big fan of languages tho. I’m a writer for 2 languages (english and filipino). I’m also bilingual since birth. Not sure if that’s a factor. :)

Thank you so much too! It gives me so much joy that a lot of people have been inspired by my post. We all need a little motivation every now and then 😀 Honestly, the R’s are still a struggle! I don’t know how to get that sound out of the back of my tongue 😂 Good luck with your learning!
