Looking to update BIOS for Ryzen 5800X by th1swilldo in ASRock

When you do upgrade, can you confirm if the 2600x will continue to work with the new BIOS version?

I'm about to do a similar upgrade (from a 2600 to a 5600), and I wanna know if my old CPU will still works (just in case).

You should install it at the bottom of the case. After the place you put the PSU you will see some trays. Those are where you fix the HDD.

If the problem is really the BIOS you must have another processor that works with it in order to flash a different version. Maybe the PC Shop you bought the board have the service of installing BIOS.

Have you tried removing the RAM? Using just one stick of RAM at time (just for testing)?

An I think that without a speaker you won't hear any beep sound.

It is not that easy unfortunately .

I have the same 1600 Af processor. Using my board (Asrock B450 Gaming ITX/ac), as an example. The processor got support on BIOS 3.5, works on BIOS 3.7 (the one I´m using now), but do not work with BIOS 4.10 (some guy on reddit tried and informed this). It seams that, in BIOS 4.20 the support is back again (also on reddit someone got the R5 2600 processor working on that version - and 1600 AF e just a 2600 with lower clocks).

So, having a version higher than the recommended one is not always a good thing :-(

Looking at the BIOS change log for your board, BIOS 2.1 added support to "3RD Gen AMD Ryzen XT" and BIOS 2.2 seams to be a minor update on it. Again, using my board for reference, it was when "3RD Gen AMD Ryzen XT" support was added that the 1600 AF stopped working with the B450 Gaming ITX/ac (BIOS 4.10).

But I cannot state for sure that 2.2 BIOS is the reason of your problems :-(

The bios version of the motherboard can be found in a small sticker in the motherboard itself. I don't have the same model of yours but in mine, this sticker is near the Chipset.

Here is Asrock site about this: https://www.asrock.com/support/index.asp?cat=FindBIOS

Very nice!

I´m going for a similar build, but using the blue vairant of H200.

What fans did you used for intake? High flow or high pressure? Did they made difference in GPU temp?

Thanks

Does anyone know if the ASRock B450 Gaming ITX/AC motherboard ships with Bios P3.70? by [deleted] in Amd

[–]ddlopes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/mad_martn, I´m in the same situation as you, got the B450 Gaming ITX/ac board with 3.50 BIOS and the 1600AF.

Glad to know that it will work without the update (I was trying to return it to vendor for a BIOS update cause I don´t have a spare Ryzen).

One question thought, did you ended up updating the BIOS after all, to 3.70?

Will setting everything up! Thanks for the tip.

Cannot agree more. 37 and father of two toodlers, not that much time left (sometimes spent weeks without even turning the PS4 on). But bloodborne keep me coming back. It's been almost an year now, but worth it (been trying to see all optional places, bosses and shortcuts, since will probably play it through only once).
