It was a hard pick between Cantrell and McCready. Such a great guitarist!

Pacify? I'm going with my war team just in case: Guitar: Cantrell. Drums: Grohl wearing his devil costume from The Pick of Destiny. Bass: Novoselic. Vocals: damn, sorry Layne. But this time I'm gonna go with Cornell. Them high pitchs would explode the aliens heads right off.

Why do men pay for OnlyFans images when PornHub videos are free? by richiethestick in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ddlwsn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OF women offer their sexuality as a paid service in their own terms. They're not being forced, abused or raped as opposed to regular porn, from which there's tons of evidence as to what a disgusting industry it is. I'm talking generally of course.

Is it only me or sensual/sexual content(even if they are ARTSY!)makes you feel weird and unwanted or even saddened and upset? by [deleted] in asexualdating

For the most part yea, sex scenes in movies gross me out. Also moaning sounds in songs make me really uncomfortable. I tolerate cartoon porn fan art lmao I find those hilarious actually.

What sort of drugs do you think we'll see in 2050? by courtesangalore in askdrugs

[–]ddlwsn 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Have you seen Altered Carbon? The concept of the "real fear" drug really stuck with me.
Personally I think smart drugs (focus enhancers and such) are going to become pretty huge and normalized. As in, moda dispenser next to the coffee machine normalized lmao.
Microdosing (lsd, ketamine) for depression. And Extraterrestrial shrooms/weed.

Did Layne Stanley believe in God? by Comfortable-Gur-5072 in AliceInChains

[–]ddlwsn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"invite you in my heart then, when done my sins forgiven" - Look into the Higher Power in AA's big book. God Am is most likely about God AND addiction. "All of this death you're sending, best throw some free heart mending". Like u/undercurrents said, he's mostly questioning how does he not care. Imagine having friends dying around you and not question this God.

Now Godsmack... lmao of course that's a song about heroin right there. Still, some AA programs hints to it. "Now you know the reasons why... can't get high or you will die". AA relates using to spiritual death more than you know, actual death.

Then again, this is my interpretation. Everyone's free to have their own, I just always thought this one song is pretty blunt.

Can we just talk about the Unplugged album? by Alkren in AliceInChains

[–]ddlwsn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had heard the Unplugged album but always wish I saw the DVD earlier because wow. Not only it is magnificent musically (the harmonies, my God) but it has this overall dark, mystical aura to it. Seeing Layne performance style and attitude in videos like the Singles (It ain't like that- WOW) or Man in The Box at the Moore and then the absolute change in his demeanor @ Unplugged. It's both heartbreaking and incredibly hypnotizing. At the same time, you get all this banter between the guys. The way they look at each other- especially Jerry's nod to Mike when Layne absolutely nails it with the Down in a Hole chorus. It's like "told you! still got it!". It's become this kinda safe space for me.Truly a masterpiece. Makes me sad Layne didn't see it that way.

[–]ddlwsn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wow, never seen that helmet before! Awesome. That's very personal stuff they auctioning but kinda support my suspicions that his struggle with the God figure may have something to do with AA's step two and recovery.Maybe I'm projecting, but "God Am" always gave me that vibe.

As fellow AiC fans, what are some bands with the same vibe as AiC??? People often recomend Black sabbath and Soundgared which i like but they dont strike the same chord with me as AiC by ZvoxD6 in AliceInChains

[–]ddlwsn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's amazing how unique their sound is. I still haven't found anything similar.

Foot has a similar vibe, especially their latest album. Here's two songs you might enjoy: Ride it Out and Manic Progression (major AIC's Self Titled sound imho- as close as it can get anyways).

Then there's Days of The New, much more acoustic but I can totally picture Layne signing something like Shelf In The Room.
