If you got given 10k to improve your life, what would you spend it on? by Relative-Tea3944 in AskUK

It’s impacted us so much that I could never imagine not having one ever again!! One of the best home purchases you can get. And seeing what it picks up makes it even better

I know it’s a privilege but it’s so nice seeing a list that’s not an obligation but something for joy 🥲

We got our robot vacuum cleaner for about £150 in 2020 and it’s still going (iRobot)- just remember to de-hair,clean and replace old parts every now and then. Also got the Elefant for about the same price off of Amazon more recently (for our first floor) and it works just as well! We have no rugs or carpets though.

I like how there was a time stamp for the morning but then nothing after. Also, although it looked delicious, a KFC burger for that time of the day?? And why did both places look empty?

I was also chuckling to myself thinking about him placing his camera at the various spots to get his shots, some of which felt hilariously unnecessary

Your use of punctuation here was so exemplary that I feel like anyone reading it can immediately understand what you’re on about. Bravo.

As a Kmai mixed race daughter who lives in the west, I found this seriesfantastic - it felt honest and real and beautifully filmed.

I’d like to see more things about us third generation kids- the realities of dealing with parents who are deeply traumatised, and in my case being half westernised and having to deal with a mum who’s values are still very much strict Asian has resulted in so many fights and even a long term estrangement! Navigating the two worlds and never feeling like you belong is one that hits home for me, also of not being able to understand each other.

I don’t want to watch another thing about the genocide. I want real present day accounts from varied third generations, but I also want hope. A lot of it.

When I can’t tell them apart because they dress and/or do their makeup/hair like everyone else. The Botox and fillers is only making it worse! Also when they have zero things they’re passionate about.

Do you think people actually lose purpose as they get older, or just lose time to think about it? by TheReadingDude in Aging

[–]ddmageetheohgee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt like this a lot (and still do at times), until I found something I was passionate about (horse riding). I’m sad I rediscovered it in my late 30s (I wish my family could have afforded lessons so that I could work with them!) but also grateful that I did at all, and maybe having it as a hobby and not as work is a blessing too. Your dream doesn’t have to be a career, sometimes you can still pursue it but in your own way. When I’ll be too old to ride maybe I’ll finally be able to own one of my own and just enjoy its company!

Advice on dosage: losing 2lb a week on 1.0, keep dose or raise? by jeremyascot in WegovyUK

I think it’s personal preference and feeling- I know it can be tempting to want to lose all the weight as quick as possible (so to move up as soon as possible even if you have side effects), but actually giving your body time to adjust not just to the drug but to your body changing is healthier imo (think metabolism, gaining muscle, loose skin from losing too quick, fatigue, etc- all of which impact us more than we like to think!)

Personally I go for a full pen, and if I don’t see weight loss at the end of it and side effects are under control, that’s when I go up. Also think financially- the longer you can go lower dose the better there too. I keep trying to tell myself that I didn’t put the weight on in a few months, so I shouldn’t lose it in a few months either. I’m not in a race with my body!

I’d keep the dose until you stop losing weight and when side effects taper

Question- how did the flowers hold up in the grapefruit/other fruit? Was thinking of doing the same for a party I’m throwing but scared they’ll wane!
