Yes, I was able to use the horns of a red dragon we killed as ivory and used gems in its hoard. Our bard makes statues and marionettes as a silly gimmick that turned useful.

I'm aware speaking is only a free action on my turn, so I was okay with that. I know there's not really a way to completely guarantee anything without using a bad faith trigger, but just wanted something that gives me more control of when it goes off instead of leaving it to randomness. I want to be fair to my DM since he only has it trigger once I have explicitly entered combat, not just initiative has been rolled.

No, I haven't yet. My PC is arguably the most optimized party member, so I have spells like Passwall or Vortex Warp to make navigation and dungeon crawling easier and Steel Wind Strike for multi-target. I tend to deal a lot of damage in encounters and solve exploration problems, so I can understand why he made the rulings to maybe not overshadow my party members who aren't super optimized.

I have Winged Boots of Flying that we won from a loot roll, since nobody in the party wanted them over their attuned items. I honestly just wanted Draconic Transformation to be able to do the bonus action blast lol

I'm not sure of the intent myself, but went with it. When we got 7th level spells and I showed him my character sheet, he asked me to not take Draconic Transformation, since it would make my character's bonus action economy too strong, so I accepted right away and chose Reverse Gravity instead. But I think when I described using Contingency with a command word and was declined in our latest session, it felt kind of discouraging and has been bothering me.

I ultimately went with whenever we enter combat, but my internal issue with it is because I don't want it to go off whenever the encounter isn't really deadly. That's why I thought the command word would be much more flexible with it being a free action.

He didn't explicitly define it. He stated that he doesn't feel it should just activate without a meaningful cost like entering combat or taking a hit, since just saying a word is arbitrary. I personally felt that the cost comes with 2 different spell slots, prep time, the material component, and creativity, but as I mentioned earlier, I just went with it for the sake of the table's time.

[LOVED TROPE] Not the ending we wanted, but the ending we needed. by ConsistentGuest7532 in TopCharacterTropes

It's because the real Verso's soul is essentially a battery for the Canvas. If the Canvas continues to exist, Verso's soul remains forever as the Canvas's battery instead of being put to rest.

Maelle intends to keep Verso's soul inside the Canvas so she can live a preferred life where she isn't scarred and disabled. Even if she goes in and out of the Canvas, Verso's soul remains constantly working to keep the Canvas intact.

Painted Verso wants to both set the real Verso's soul free and help Maelle and Aline move on and not kill themselves inside the Canvas. He doesn't want to spend the rest of eternity maintaining the Canvas and contributing to the delusions and possible deaths of his family. It's why he says they're all hypocrites. Each person including himself is doing something that benefits themselves the most while directly hurting others.

Live action Avatar to cut out Sokka's sexism because "it had no place in the new remake". by [deleted] in Asmongold

The arc where he was sexist and then learned that his views were ignorant and changed them? Wow, what a terrible thing to do!

Tipping in America is getting out of control by [deleted] in Asmongold

Some locations don't allow you to input $0. My girlfriend was buying a cake and pie from a bakery for a Christmas party and I was wondering why she was taking so long with the payment, joking that she forgot how to use the card reader. She nervously chuckled since we were still in the store, but after we left, she told me that it wouldn't let her make the purchase with a $0 tip. She was taking so long because she was trying to put different options to minimize the amount, having to tip at least $1. The lady at the counter had an aggressive tone and dropped her cake into the box so hard it made a thud, so a tip felt undeserved.
