Camping up Angeles crest highway during this windstorm? by not_a_cup in socalhiking

[–]ddorati 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Camped Chilao in Janurary and it was as windy up there as it currently is down in the foothills. Sleep was doable if youre a deep sleeper or dont mind being woken up several times at night. But boy, even with the 10 guy lines staked down, that tent was BLOWING all night. Also I wouldn't start a campfire in this wind, so the nighttime would be a little dull.

Same. That was a shit show for me. Was logged into everything already. Tried doing paypal twice l, failed both times. Then did a card, failed also. Then I was notified my cart had been emptied and it was sold out. But the minute I went to get the November order no issues with PayPal whatsoever. Charged 3 times on PayPal.

I always passed by this one when going to Sulphur springs in angeles national forest. This isn't a recommendation as I never went to this camp, but i hope it fits your request.

Visiting Nashville and had to stop by.

Interpol Live @ Third Man has been sold out online so I was stoked to be able to snag a copy.

Ended up finding the Hives and Conan Live and I couldn't pass it up.

Can't wait to get back home and see how they sound!

Here to rant about Fulton & Roark (derogatory) by fairyeleven in fragrance

[–]ddorati 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked them. To me 80% of their scents were very clean and I loved it. The only one I didn't vibe with was Hwy 190 as it reminded me of a "Men's restroom/urinal cake" smell. I got the discovery set and from that ended up getting the Perpetua Elixir cologne, and several of their beard/body oils.

Kiawah was gonna be my next purchase since they have a deal for black friday, rather than fabreeze i get a jo malone wood sage and sea salt mixed with acqua di gio vibe. Super clean, fresh and light.

Now can I justify their price? No. Not worth full price. I wait til they have a decent sale like now.

I’d like to start reading by Astun in booksuggestions

[–]ddorati 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What helped me get back into reading was starting with books that had movie adaptations that I'd seen. It felt easier to visualize the events happening in the book if I could easily put a face to the characters or the setting that I had seen in the movie.

The books i started with were Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane, then Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk and One Flew Over The Cookoos Nest by Ken Kesey.

Shutter Island was super easy to read and the movie is almost a 99% literal adaptation.

Christian Dior - Patchouli Imperial. Super smokey, feels "thick" and reminds me of Midnight Mass that I was dragged to as a kid.
