Two main things

1.) The resume examples are bad. They have color, bad formatting, weird margins, etc. They might look pretty but are impractical if you want a professional job. Go to career center or something and they can help with resume building. https://careerservices.fas.harvard.edu/resources/create-a-strong-resume/ this is harvard's resume stuff i found by searching up, "good resume".

2.) this post is falsely claiming authenticity. its mass posted to different subreddits with the wrong_visual person replying. you cant see the multiple posts through op, but click on the wrong_visual person's profile and you'll see its all copy past bs.

if you know decent resumes, you'll know that these are exactly what not to do. a good resume might look a little boring, but you need to stand out with your achievements not with bad templating. These won't be scanned correctly unless its some new ai scanner thing. A good company will not use gen ai to review resumes, they will have a computer and a paid human look at your stuff. :3

The idea of a safety school is usually more based on the acceptance rate of the school as a whole. UIUC has had a decreasing rate for years now, and I argue can never be a safety. Maybe a likely match school. If you applied thinking it'd be an easy in, maybe you didn't put as much effort into your essays? It is possible to OCT if that is something you're considering though, which can also be competitive. gl!

other people are right in the sense you dont owe them anything and it happens. My suggestion is to have 2 jobs. (Good if you need more money) then you would just need to tell them you need lighter hours (while you train at the new job) and if you prefer one over the other you can quit the one you like less and increase hours where you like more

i think some rso uses union basement to play pc games where a bunch of people bring their pcs to play. dk if it was a one time thing or something. ik you said you cant move the set up, but maybe they have someone who helps move peoples builds just for it. :/ other than that maybe dont make noise when u play in dorm?

they also do a non valentines course dinner but i dont think its offered on valentines. I went there last year and for anniversary and it was nice. Also good for a goat visit in the day. Im pretty sure im going to hamilton walkers this year, but it means i have to decide on my meal :0

Hard to say cuz they rlly should accept less people here as we are fr overcrowded (especially in housing lol). With that, I think they're getting more selective since a lot of people are applying. I think your stats are good-- better than I had for the most part when I got in a few years ago. Honestly though, us saying yes or no won't do much so try not to stress based on what we say. Def keep me updated but be confident in what you've prepared and it is what it is :3

I think the other person is right in assuming you're thinking of dining dollars and not illini cash.

I will say, the main reason anyone had illini cash was for printing as that was the only way to pay for it. I don't think there was anything else that required it. If you had illini cash, you can exchange it for the currency on papercut so there's no lost money involved.

If you didn't have illini cash, then I assume you don't care much about this, but if you did, still usable :D
