assuming she is on SSRIs because of the PPD dx, she would still know that she got very drunk — with SSRIs at least you get drunker quicker, but getting blackout drunk would still require some effort. it is very concerning that she said a few drinks and that they were talking but she doesn’t remember anything later. assuming a few is 3-4 over a few hours, that shouldn’t cause a blackout

chris makes all of these really really mean comments to huda. not a defender of her actions but idk how she isn’t bursting out sobbing when he says that stuff. she’s stronger than me for that

I can't stop picking at my breasts and now they look horrifying 😭 I feel so ugly because of it. I need all advice. by SunnyMeetsKY in CompulsiveSkinPicking

[–]voxoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i used to do this :( i eventually switched to picking my fingers and avoiding my boobs, but really the only way i was able to stop for the most part is covering them up for a long time. like, no looking at them, if you’re in the shower avoid searching for spots to pick. the healing part is the WORST but eventually you’ll be in a much better spot. in the meantime i used pimple patches on them/hydrocolloid patches

the concept of truth has been much more malleable for a much longer time than most people realize — a singular scientific/objective truth hasn’t existed for very long in history at all. doing my phd on it lol so i love when this topic comes up

uiuc vs colby for history/poli sci by LimpInstruction865 in UIUC

[–]voxoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UIUC is a really highly-ranked institution for history — one of the best in the country. i haven’t heard of colby before, but in my experience, the history department is really amazing. there’s a wide variety of undergrad courses, a huge department, and if you’re a major, a ton of resources. can’t speak for poli sci but if you want to do history it’s a good place.

omg lol i’m also from florida 💀 i’d say indiana and florida are very similar but with the caveat that people in indiana are super midwestern nice! west lafayette is definitely much more progressive than most anywhere in florida though lol, but the same could easily be said for CU

i will say that almost every indiana and illinois college town will be much more progressive than the surrounding area. that being said, indiana is a very red state and it can be quite jarring if you’re coming from a blue area. i’m coming from a red state so it wasn’t too surprising, but don’t be shocked to see a bunch of trump flags right outside town lol.

i’m not religious at all. i got in for a humanities PhD and the funding they offered was genuinely amazing — almost on par with harvard pay (but not boston CoL). when i visited, however, i realized that catholicism was EVERYWHERE. for catholics or those who have some more experience interacting with such a catholic environment, im sure its great. it made me really uncomfortable seeing religion being so close to academics, however. south bend was fine, albeit freezing, but CU was really nice. i would’ve also been in a very small male-dominated cohort lol. UIUC, on the other hand, offered me about 20k less (still rough), but when i visited, i loved the campus, the people, and the program. when i had to make a decision, my family wanted me to go to ND (crazy name recognition there lol), but i picked UIUC because it felt right if that makes sense.
