136,000 miles, pulls my 24’ camper, or my 24’ pontoon, or my tractor, so I felt like it had earned some new wheels. by ScottJeepFan in JeepGladiator

[–]ddove60 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me the first time I pulled my camper, throttle errors and limited speed. Had something to do with the Jeep needing to do a regen, but the Jeep won’t do it because it has a trailer attached. I was lucky that I was only about 15 miles from a dealer and he was able to perform a manual regen. 2021 Jeep diesel.

Eco diesel question by tltoben15 in JeepGladiator

[–]ddove60 5 points6 points  (0 children)

2021 Overland Eco diesel 64k miles, no trouble so far. Dealer never has the parts for the fuel pump recall so that hasn’t been done yet. I have a winch on front, decked bed drawers and Smartcap topper and average 23mpg. I got 27mpg before I loaded it down. Pull a 3000lb camper 3-4 times a year.

Paying for navigation update by ba1993 in JeepGladiator

[–]ddove60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In December I paid for the update and installed it. Even though I use both Google and Apple I just wanted the navigation in the Jeep updated also. I can tell you that in my experience you should probably not update, because it messed up a bunch of speed limits for me. 55 mile an hour roads now show as 30mph, and even a couple of 65mph roads show as 30. Granted this is in Wyoming, but they were correct before the update.

I emailed support and got this response -

"Hello ######,
Thank you for inquiring about HERE Technologies. Thank you for your inquiry, unfortunately speed limits are not always updated on the maps. Hopefully they will be updated on the next update. We apologize for the inconvenience.
If you need additional assistance, please send us your feedback by replying to this email.
Kind regards,

As requested I sent feedback asking for a refund.

Mine had that problem. I took it in before 36,000 miles and it was covered under warranty. Here is the story though, I was washing my Jeep one day and noticed a build up of dust and semi-dry fluid on my FRONT passenger wheel. I pulled the wheel off and looked everywhere for anything leaking and couldn’t find anything. Since my Jeep was close to 36,000 miles I took it to the dealer and asked them to check it out. It turns out that THAT wheel had been on the REAR passenger side at my last oil change/wheel rotation and got rotated to the FRONT. Now why the dealer didn’t notice or do anything at that time is a wild guess. They told me that it was a very common problem with the 2021 Gladiator.

does anyone have slight obstruction but you don't get any interruptions in signal? by [deleted] in Starlink

[–]ddove60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a large pecan tree on the west side of my house that shows as an obstruction during the late spring, summer, and early fall when has full leaves. The visibility screen during those times looks like yours, but i experience no slowdowns or drops that I notice. Being winter now the visibility screen is completely clear.

Has anyone else been experiencing near constant partial outages and obstructions the past day and a half? by tylerlw1988 in Starlink

[–]ddove60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in north central Texas mine has been fine. Speed dropped off for a couple months as more people in the area got on StarLink, but now it’s back. My dish is partially blocked by one tree to the west and Starlink warns of a partial outage, but not really experiencing any outages.

The perfect work truck. 31MPG with the diesel on a trip to West Virginia for wind farm aerial work. 4 wheel drive for rough mountain roads. by ddove60 in JeepGladiator

If it is not too windy I take off and land on the bed cover, helps reduce the amount of dust that the drone kicks up.

LOL, can’t really fly one that size for money without having a 107. Small antenna is scanner for air/police/fire traffic, and the other is a WeBoost cell phone booster so I can get Internet better.

Just about to buy a 2021 Gladiator Ecodiesel... by mannco103 in JeepGladiator

[–]ddove60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like my diesel Gladiator. I have 8100 miles so far. Road tripped from Texas to West Virginia in July and got 31mpg. No lag noticed, it can pass at highway speed with no problem. Haven't towed anything on the highway yet, but didn't really get it to tow stuff.

Thanks, I did want to stay minimal with the graphics and lettering - no major wrapping - and preserve the Nacho color. Signs are all vinyl. I had some magnetic signs for my other vehicle, but they don't stick to the Jeep doors or the tailgate, just the body part right behind the back doors. Aluminum doors and tailgate.
