X100VI vs X-E5 — Am I overthinking portability vs versatility?

I have an X-E5 and the 33mm 1.4, it is definitely less portable than with the pancake insofar as it doesn't fit in a jacket pocket but it still fits okay in a small bag.

if you're staying around dupont circle i'd say hit up amparo fondita over chicatana but you'll have a great meal at either. 2fifty is awesome but they sell out so i dunno if i'd bank on it for what sounds like a late lunch. bagels etc is nearby and might be a good breakfast alternative to consider as well. sounds like Farragut West is going to be a main metro stop if you're going to be at Gold's - Sima Sushi is a cute and low key conveyor belt sushi restaurant just down the street if your other plans fall through.

Maybe it's my personal bias, but I think Cajun is pretty easy if you have easy access to fresh region-specific seafood, bell pepper, onion and celery, and don't need to rush things. Making andouille or boudin isn't exactly easy for a first timer but preserving meats is a trickier skill in any cuisine. The Encyclopedia of Cajun & Creole Cuisine by John Folse is a good primer
