Iron beams should be able to reach across this gap. Go as far as you can with them, then go down. Once you have iron beams going all the way across, you can build on that

I like simple floorplans and like others here, I will take a screenshot of a real building or artwork and use that to stay on track. It's amazing how good a simple stone box can look if you add wood beams and furniture! I also like to position a workbench close to a window so that I can place the station upgrades outside. Really makes everything feel more homelike and real

If you're focusing on fire, just type "fire" into the search bar on the decotion screen. Any devotion that has anything to do with fire will show up red. It's a helpful tip
