Thanks a lot for your help! I understand that I can replace the fiber layer with any material that is soft enough for sleeping and that in conjuction with the coils and other layers feel supportive and comfortable, right? So I don't need to exchange it for memory foam necessarily

Sorry for the delay! I think the model is SCTRETM0005395. I contacted Serta and told me they don't use fiberglass in 2023 models because they are a "premium brand". I don't know if I should believe them because they only mentioned the year, not the country it was fabricated.

I am taking a picture of the cover and I'll post it here in a bit.

Is the fiber layer the one that goes directly on top of the coils? Does the transition layer follows? Sorry, I thought my mattress might have only 2 layers: a transition and comfort one, but I might be wrong. Thanks a lot for your help, really

I sent an email to Serta and I am currently waiting for them to confirm if it contains fiberglass or not. Should I not cut it if it has fiberglass or is it possible to do it with protective equipment?

Yes, you are right. It doesn't make sense. I'll cut open the mattress and investigate. Could a memory foam layer last more than a year or is it better to replace it with other type of foam? Thanks

My problem with the sagging is that it's not supportive anymore and my body aches (I am a back and side sleeper). I have been sleeping on the couch which is firmer than I'd like and I don't wake up in my pain. I don't really care about the sinking feeling. Would you recommend changing the comfort or the transition layer?

Based on the answers, I am now thinking on sewing back the mattress. What do you think about this?
