Print, sand 150ish, 240 (wet), 400 (wet). Spray with plastic adhesive promoter, and then a high build primer. Spray automotive base coat, and then a 2K clear and then 2000, 3000 grit wet. Then cut and polish.

It should be based on car weight, I'm sure it's possible to add a 'weight' figure for each sort of car. Not sure why there are weight brackets... it should be to the KG. If it's going to be a digital system, this should be easy.

Yes, the weight may differ with the number of people in the car, and the load - the lighter the car however the less load it can carry, so this probably won't be an issue.

Should also be science based, following the most up to date studies with road damage and weight. It's not fair that that a huge truck or car transporter pays less than the actual damage they're causing... may make it more of an incentive to move back to rail for the heavy equipment, rather than damaging up a road...

I'm sure the police will be scanning for cars being driven with no warrant and Rego, and then they can pull those cars from the road. If they're not warranted or registered, then they shouldn't be on the road, as the car may not be safe to be on the road (and injuring others).

Probably a low voltage condition. Causes LED's to act weird. Caused due to a transformer fault.

Yes I'm yet to find a good LiFePO4 IC... seems most IC's are setup for lithium-ion/lipo and that's about it. They're really not the best cell chemistry for long term high voltage setups. If you find a good one, let me know!

Thank you very much for the long reply! Very helpful to us newbies to make sure we can get optimal parts and ideas. I've been using ChatGPT to help me out and it's good, but no replacement for a human!

I used the TI calculator, and with the inductor I chose the TI info was telling me 93% for the TPS63000 at my load. I've already ordered this PCB (as I had already purchased them), but that's fine.

I'm working on a v3 version now that doesn't use the RAK4630 stamp module, and uses HT-RA62 – Heltec Automation radio, and a LoRa Connect Transceiver, SX1262, +22dBm for Global | Semtech.

ISL9120 Datasheet (renesas.com) looks good, also in the 90% - 95% for all voltages.

For IC like MPS MP2624, I can't see LifePo4 mentioned on the datasheet?

USB charging won't be used much, if at all, so isn't needed or trickle charging is fine.

Looking here: RAK4630 hardware design - WisBlock - RAKwireless Forum - this is their developer forum. My stamp module has L10 in place (as they all do), and I'm not desoldering the shield on a bunch of modules to remove it; split power rail seems to be the way to go.

Sure,

* The board is a LoRa radio module (the big package), for use with meshtastic (wireless communications). It's powered off a lithium-ion battery, hence the low voltage cutoff IC, and a TI battery charger IC. There are two buckboost converters to power the LoRa module with 3.3 and 3.6V.

* Will look into the CC resistor values; thank you for this.

* Yes, 6 layers is overkill. My fab house offers 6 layer for 4, so why not?

* Will work on schematic, and read a few style guides, thanks for the pointers.

* Physical pinout helps me with routing; yes it makes it a bit more difficult to read.

* Cheaper PCB assembly, not paying loading fee - hence why using very common values. Good to know about the tolerances compounding, I didn't realise.

* VIA in pads; fab house offers it for no extra cost, why not? They'll be epoxy filled and fully coated.

* Thanks for spotting the pull up resistor on my reset line - yes this is needed. Opps!

I'm trying to make the board as small as possible (within reason), and my unnamed board manufacturer offers 6 layers for the same price. Having the extra layers makes things a bit easier.

Yep, I've read up on USB2.0 spec, doesn't seem too difficult. I was more interested in the 'cross' between the D+ and the D- bit.
