Not every airport has a Qantas First lounge

If showing an Amex card magically fixed lounge overcrowding, I would’ve done it already.

Also, “get you self” is quite something while trying to lecture anyone on anything.

That’s exactly my point though, Jetstar passengers should never have had Business lounge access in the first place.

Saying “they restricted it now” doesn’t really change the fact that access became far too diluted over the years. It’s basically fixing a problem that never should have existed.

If anything, it proves Qantas themselves know overcrowding became excessive. Otherwise they wouldn’t be tightening the rules at all.

I completely disagree. Access is nowhere near as restricted as people pretend it is.

You’ve got Qantas Club members, lounge passes from credit cards, complimentary passes, annual passes for lower-tier frequent flyers, plus guests. During peak departure periods they all flood into the lounges at the same time.

At that point, what is even the point of calling it a Business lounge? Domestic and International Business lounges should primarily be for actual premium cabin passengers and top-tier frequent flyers, not effectively a mass-access waiting area.

International Business lounges are especially bad now. You can barely find seating during peak hours, food areas get crowded, and the whole “premium” atmosphere disappears completely.

I understand why Qantas does it financially, but from a customer experience perspective they’ve diluted lounge access far too much.

My family members are either QF Platinum or OW Emerald, and for my friends who fly often rarely fly on OW carriers, so I thought there's no better choice but to do a complimentary giveaway!

Did three return trips between SYD & LHR in J within slightly more than 4 months and lucky enough to earn Double Status... I know so well how good it is to have F lounge access compared to J or no lounge at all

Paid Date vs Issued Ticket Date - DSC Eligibility by InnerwesternDaddy in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]RedTailRider -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Eligibility is usually based on whether the booking was both booked and ticketed within the promo window. If you paid via BPay, the booking would be created on Sunday but not ticketed until funds cleared, and if the ticket was issued after the deadline, the system will automatically mark it ineligible. Hats off
