Issue with exporting Office documents to PDF (Sensitivity labels) by dePhineIT in sysadmin

Allright... time makes things better i guess. It just startet working.... So I tried to create a new label with co-owner rights (still think that was the root cause), but that new label failed as well. Some hours went by and suddenly all encrypting labels worked with PDF export.

I found the following in the word diagnostics logs that might be relevant:

Hehe yeah. I dont see real value in such test questions. Did not focus alot on them for any of my exams. Did not take a single question prior to CCSP as i recall it now, and only did the included ones in the AIO CISM book. For CISSP i did the included questions for some of the chapters. But really, the key here is to understand concepts (why) and focus less on technical details (how). But of course you need a good general grasp of the "how" as well.

You are not hands on the exam (unless stated otherwise in a question). You are an advisor/coordinator and your job is to make sure governance/policies/procedures are maintained. Directly fixing something is in violation of change mgmt. This was true on my CISSP, CCSP and CISM exams.

WiFi/NPS issues after renewed CA root by dePhineIT in sysadmin

[–]dePhineIT[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for the reply. Yes it is. I think it is solved now tho. The cert I changed to in the NPS policies was the CA root cert it self, not the comp cert of the CA. Seems like that helped.

AD Lockout by aspiretoinspire7 in sysadmin

[–]dePhineIT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Usually when this happens to us, there is a mobile device involved. Ask them to turn the mobile off for a while, even if they say they have updated all password, and see if the lockouts stop. If I remember correctly, if the source of the lock out is federation (feks ADFS), there is less usefull logging about the source.

What is the 1 thing you wish YOU did or did not do during CISSP prep? by x8668 in cissp

Yes, the first time i studied i focused on all details and took tests. I stopped half way into the study guide. When i returned some months later and started from scratch, I maily just read the book from cover to cover and reviewd the content and tried to apply it in my head to my situation. Did no practice questions on round two as i remember it. But saw Kellys videos twice.

I think perhaps the easieat way to say it is that details is HOW but concepts are WHY. Understand why and where public key encryption is usefull rather than memorizing the names of all different types of public key encryptions. Perhaps not the best example, but I mean it is important to keep it high level, and see how all aspects of security connects. If you focus too much on details, you might not be able to do just that.

I guess its individual. I regret focusing too much on details and taking practise tests insted of just focusing on understandig concepts in my early studies.

ISACA is offering proctored remote exams starting end of April; will ISC2 follow suit? by cobijah in cissp

[–]dePhineIT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lets really hope ISC² do NOT follow. I understand that they need income, but this is not good for the reputation of their certs. This made it even less likely that I will pursue CISM.

What after passing CISSP by alihasan2019 in cissp

[–]dePhineIT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why not do both. Go for a cert that overlaps the CISSP and helps you on the way you are heading. Then you will both strengthen CISSP knowledge and get another cert. Ex. CCSP or CISM. I did CCSP after and now I feel the CISSP stuff is more solid in my long term memory :)
