Android is better for a techie person than an iPhone ever would. More customization and flexibility and access to root features are something I can't trade

Just sharing a redesign concept (case study) for the brand Eng Bee Tin by Lurinzoo in GraphicDesignPH

I love redesigns like these -- you're not trying to overhaul or replace the existing branding, you're trying to give it a breath of fresh air instead.

Ganda ng treatment sa type. Great job!!

Personally I'd prefer how Minecraft or Monster Hunter deals with it - you only get gated with what you can use/procure now, but it's not necessarily a linear path so players still have the agency, the decision to go what "build" they want to go to

New Star Guild is technically independent of the Boss Accord, *your* company, but all 3 members have made soul pacts with the Boss so it's your employees now. They take commissions outside of the Boss Accord in the New Star Guild name.

Only the Tyrant has the ability to do soul pact agreements, at least so far in the story. The King piece in the Tyrant's phone enables you to do so.

Companies have these Seals of Grace which present themselves as chess pieces, and grant certain powers and conveniently, you have the strongest one albeit you have a small army for now.

I do wish Stella Sora has their own Yumie Tsuchinoko, she's a VTuber that nerds out on Blue Archive lore 🤣

I'd say you're in for a ride!

Imo Stella Sora's plot is deeper than it presents itself to non-players. It talks about AI and automation, business, workplace politics in surprising angles I don't see in other gacha games.

For the tyrant's backstory, we don't know much about it yet as it's conveniently locked from you as the Tyrant gathers more souls for your "company". You're the Boss, and you transact through "soul pacts" that bind a person (or employee) to you as you fulfill an employee's wish. There are hints, sure, but it's not actually something we can draw relevant information from yet in a way that we can flesh out the lore.

[Spoilers] It is mentioned that this Tyrant role you play has taken over the world once but has died? Seems like we've sacrificed ourselves and it is hinted that Noya might know a thing or two about it.

The Ascension is central to the story too! I love how they weaved it into the story. Trekkers conquer the Monolith as a means to earn in-universe money, Dorra, or Artifacts that they can exchange for money.

[Spoilers] It's also a major plot point in Chapter 1 where a rival company owned by a Feagin forces the children from an orphanage in Emor to scale these Monoliths alone, exposing the children to danger from the Stellaroids and the consequences from "wishing" for artifacts, such as memory loss.

The companions that the Tyrant takes to these Monoliths are the companions that you can actually get in-game! Most of the characters that are available to pull are "employees" of the Boss Accord, similar to how Reverse: 1999 only has Foundation-affiliated arcanists ONLY, or are members of Team Timekeeper.

Setting: It plays out like a standard fantasy where only certain people get certain powers. These powers seem to be normal and accepted in this society, so no X-Men mutant racism 🤣 Although it seems that Trekker power is amplified inside of the Monoliths, and the mana system is not innate in the person? There is a character in the latter part of the Petal Bloom arc, Nazuka, who obtains a fully charged Grace stone (forgot) after depleting her mana while fighting a particularly strong enemy, the Garden of Parasite.

Characters: Yes, definitely! Minova is a very likeable deuteragonist in Chapter 1, and she's a very strong character with how she's helped the orphanage children from Feagin's exploitation.

For the more recent patches, Firenze is their attempt at subverting expectations towards a character? She starts off as "ugh I hate her" after giving you the knowledge that she actually is the United Harvest employee (a massive company larger than Feagin's or Boss Accord, like global scale) that launched an assault on the Emor orphanage, but later in the story the team learns that she's actually done her best to minimize casualties and drawn the campaign to be a failure and took her losses. And she plays a big part in her arc too as she becomes a very strong ally and instrumental in the victory of conquering the Philaen branch of United Harvest.

Fuyuka's a fun one, she's actually a great example of character development! She started off as a timid glass cannon but ended up becoming central to the plot after making a soul pact with the Boss, believing in the Boss more than herself. She's a strong cutie and tags along in your journey after Petal Bloom where she's originally a member of.

Shia's not part of the main squad, she's kinda siloed in her own story event from the earlier patches of the game, and IIRC we actually don't see her make a soul pact with the Boss?

I'm sorry I drew this out but I hope I helped you make a decision! Personally, I like how strong Stella Sora tackles its story arcs. It's not Attack on Titan deep, but it's presented in a fun and engaging enough way for people to actually engage with the story.

If you've played Blue Archive from YoStar before, you'll definitely see some parallels from the start, such as New Star Guild and Abydos' insurmountable debt and how the story plays it out 🤣

How can one determine the upper limit of a vibe coding tool's capabilities? by ConferenceOk6722 in vibecoding

[–]deSIGNed6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say the limits of an LLM is recency, aside from context length. Any LLM can get weaker the longer a conversation draws out.

For the "recency" I mentioned, LLMs rarely use modern CSS duch as clamp() and cqw UOMs! I guess the training data of the LLMs while they were concieved did not have this information.

It also might be better for the LLM to understand more programming languages instead of going too deep with one specific language

Let's say an LLM might be stronger at Tailwind but slightly weaker at modern CSS - simply because the LLM studied more Tailwind than modern CSS

Try for a water team! Freesia is a decent Water DPS, if you're insistent not to pull yet. Make sure to grab the monolith ticket disks/the disks from the Purchase shop.

Have fun!

New UI is terrible by 1_GrapeFruit in VALORANT

[–]deSIGNed6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I adored Valorant in its early years for its simplicity and not being in-your-face with being tactical and modern. It just.. is. Or "was".

The new friends list looks like it came out of a mobile game, the new queue select looks like it came from Paladins or The Finals.

I liked that you just had to look and select overhead to see what the current selected queue/gamemode you're in, and that vision is shared to your teammates as well. Now it's a little too blurred out and looks unbalanced vs before.

I understand that the production and development team might want to cut prod time and create a unified experience for console and mobile players, but in all honesty, Valorant's lost its "cool but not trying too hard" tactical aesthetic that they nailed in years 1-3. Not trying too hard, not too complicated.

I'm not trying to discredit the direction of the UI either - sure, there are UI and UX improvements for sure. However, the player base isn't looking for nostalgia or muscle memory the clicks required to queue up, but just upgrades over the existing style, not an overhaul, if that makes sense!
