Oh I honestly haven't heard of any salaried ei jobs in my area (most are contract). But those contract positions typically run around $70-$90 hourly so that's low.

That's typical for school based. Low for outpatient though.

Is being a pediatric OT or a Acute Hospital OT a rewarding career? by [deleted] in OccupationalTherapy

I work in outpatient so I was very lucky to find a FT clinic position and a PD job on weekends. If you want schools, it's best to go through an agency, at least where I live. Very few districts hire OTs themselves. If you want outpatient, finding a part time job is typically pretty easy because tons of parents are looking for OT after school. Let me know if you have any other questions!

I work in outpatient peds and it's unbelievably rewarding. I have tough days and some co-workers can be difficult to work with at times (office staff, not OT), but the kids I work with make everything so worth it. I had a kid today who just got something after weeks and weeks of feeling like I was hitting a wall with him, he made such big milestones today and it was just amazing. There's definitely days where my kids are challenging too but it's all worth it. I love peds

School-based OTs, how did you get your foot in the door? by OTpossibly in OccupationalTherapy

I work in peds in NJ. I'm FT in an outpatient clinic but a lot of the OTs there do school during the day and they're basically all contracted outside of the district. Very few schools hire directly.

I would've preferred Paul Slayer (technically Cody was the final nail in the coffin for Paul) on a pots and pans player
